About this listen

The Amazon rainforest holds a world-changing secret—a ship lost to time from another world.

College student Will Kaufman unearthed the biggest archaeological discovery in human history… he just needs to find a way back to Earth to tell people about it.

Four thousand years ago, a Federation bounty hunter Void ship crashed on a remote and primitive planet. There it remained until Will found it and accidentally reactivated it, launching him light-years away.

With the crew—and its prisoners—awakened from cryo-sleep, Will has no choice but to go along with Captain Fera and her pilot-turned-holographic AI. Seen as a naïve primitive, Will must navigate complex alien cultures, explore the far reaches of the galaxy, and battle a tyrannical empire seeking to finish off a haggard and weary rebel faction just to be granted a ticket back to Earth.

As Will shows an uncanny ability to navigate the mysterious realm of wormhole travel known as the Void, he begins to thrive in a galaxy not meant for humans.

Home is only a half-million light-years away, but when life on a spaceship is this much fun… does Will really want to go back?

The realistic man character

Finally a series that could be any average Joe that we all wish could be us!

Sympathetic characters, relentless pacing, imaginative world-building

This is the most compelling fantasy/sci fi I’ve read in a while. The dynamic amongst the rag-tag crew is delicious. Their reactions to calamity and conflict are relatable and credible. The novel literally hits the ground with a bang, and then never lets up. It reminds me of Farscape, one of my favorite shows.

Unexpected good time

I was unsure as to where the book was going and was quickly hooked! Definitely worth the credits. I look forward to seeing where book two takes us.

Well written, funny, and original!

I like how the comedy is done, it is different than other skippy the beer can and th-the Brody. So I commend this team for originality on that aspect and I really enjoyed the grit of the military action in this space opera. I will sign up for another; yes, please!

Great start for a new series/loved it!

Loved everything about this story. Plenty of action and great characters. The narrator really brought each individual character to life for me. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Better and better, kept growing on me

That’s pretty much the review. It kept growing on me. The ideas became interesting concepts, and humorous became laughing out loud on several occasions. Like, honest belly laughs. Predictable at times, but never overly so. Have fun with this one.

Excellent performance!

Once again, Anspach & Cheney knock it out of the park, again! Mark Boyette performs as he always does - superbly. Void Drifting as an a better alternative to FTL threw me for a minute, but I got used to it. I can’t wait for book 2!
