About this listen

Dark lord, demon spawn, prophesied realm destroyer. With a demon for a father, Damien Maleficus Bloodthorne’s destiny could be nothing but nefarious, and with the completion of his most vicious spell, Damien is on the cusp of fulfilling the evil inevitability all of his dark machinations have led to. And then, her—bubbly, obnoxious, blonde.

Harboring secrets of her own, a tiny yet troublesome thief calling herself Amma completely upsets Damien’s malevolent plans when she mistakenly gets chained to his side through magic, forcing him to drag her across the realm. Killing her would fix things, of course, but the nauseatingly sweet Amma proves herself useful on Damien's unholy crusade and then proves herself the source of something even more sinister: feelings.

Will Damien be forced to abandon his villainous birthright to help the tender thorn in his side? Or will he manage to overcome the virtue Amma insists on inspiring and instead cut it out at the heart?

Cute enemies to lovers story

This is a cute and tongue in cheek story with a slow build. I’m ready for the second book.

Top tier fantasy romance

This book series has been on my mind since I first read it a little over a year ago, so I was really excited to check out the audiobook and relive the story. And it’s great! I like both of the narrators a lot.

The story itself is kind of the perfect light fantasy romance. It tackles some more sad/real topics but for the most part it is lighthearted. It is a true romance in that you really feel that the lead characters actually fall in love. Not just lust (though there is a good amount of that). It’s a sweet, silly, heart-wrenching love story set in a fun fantasy world. My favorite books 💜

This book gives me 😍

I loved this story so much I preordered the next two already. The “villain” is a complete gentleman, except when he’s deliberately trying to be bad. He won’t kiss the heroine when she’s drunk, but he will unleash an undead army on her enemies.

This was cute! Stressful at times...

This was fun and very well written. I giggled, laughed, swooned. This read like a more mature Disney movie. The voice actors did an amazing job putting you there too. perhaps one of the best vocal performances I've heard on audible!
This was gearing up to be a 5 star read but I was left a bit annoyed with all the edging and miscommunication the last three hours on why Amma needed the scroll. I could already deduce what assault Amma experienced but I was waiting for the context on how that scroll played in and why that scroll warranted such life and death attempts and fear from explaining on her part. The sentences being cut right before the explanation, the "it's too long to get into"s, Her wanting Damien to control her to force the explanation out because she was too afraid to explain it herself.... It was all a bit dramatic for a scroll she couldn't even read. I really disliked extending their miscommunication just so the last 30 minutes of the book could be more exciting. I felt the ending could have been more exciting AND heartwarming if Damien knew in the beginning why she needed the scroll.
I enjoyed this title but I'm a little weary to go into the next book because I feel like there's going to be more miscommunication. But since it didn't really affect their relationship, just was stressful to listen to, I'll give it a go!

Cute, Funny, Adorable

Good for if you’re wanting something not super serious. The characters grow on you. The situations are funny, having me laugh out loud. Can’t wait to start the next one!

Easy listen, humor, romance and cozy feels

It was a relaxing story. Lots of humor, enjoyable FMC, wearing the MMC down. Excellent narrators. Recommend.

Surprising Kooky Adventures of Opposites

This was an unexpected adventure of adventures, listening to this group adventure and adventure some more throughout this story. There are two many adventures to count, SO much happens. I loved the description of this story. The beginning starts out veryy slow though with a lot of explanations and descriptions to give background details of the main characters and the different worlds/demographics. This story is VERY detailed and well thought out and eventually picks up and is adventure after adventure. The characters have very blasé and sarcastic attitudes (and sometimes high emotions), and some of the situations they find themselves in end up being very silly. The performances of the narrators are great and very involved with varying accents; each chapter is from one of the main character's perspectives (his or hers). There are some twists and turns that start getting thrown in towards the end, which is why my heart dropped since there are so many loose ends and I realized that this is a series... A lot of content and problems are uncovered in this story, but it is essentially the complicated in-detail introduction adventure into many more problems that still need solved. Love had been blossoming as well, but get ready for a cliffhanger if you weren't aware like me.

Very good

This was a cute funny story. It didn’t have a lot of the annoying tropes that most romantasy books have. Which was nice. Plus every inn they stayed at they had their own rooms lol

It was the 1st book I’ve read where the side characters didn’t add to the story. I even found some of them annoying. The narrator just used awful voices for them and they just didn’t add anything to the story or move it along.

But this was worth the read and your time. So push thru the 1st section and get to the middle and the end because it is fun and I even laughed out loud.

Great Book

This is a cute story with a grumpy-sunshine feel and pretty detailed world building. Definitely a good read!
