Publisher's summary

Makenna Dunstan has never needed a man's protection before. But when her father's failing health places the safety of the clan in her hands, she has no choice but to marry Colin McTiernay. Fearing the emotions Colin awakens within her, she finds herself succumbing too easily to his lingering kisses and warm caresses. Yet she wonders if she can truly trust this highlander who is quickly stealing her heart....

A highlander from birth, Colin McTiernay knows the Dunstan clan dislikes him, especially the laird's youngest daughter. But he is determined to save the lowlanders from their enemies even if that means marrying the willful and impetuous Makenna. Taming this fierce tigress will be a challenge that Colin is confident he can meet by seducing Makenna - and tantalizing her with a passion that will only leave her begging for more.

All the voices where perfect and you could distinguish the characters easily

At times it was repetitive but it did not detract from the story just reiterated a story line

The highlander is a Hunk and the woman has Spunk

Any highlander book that has a strong skillful woman as the heroine has got my attention. This second book in the series introduces the heroine, Makenna, as a strong willed woman who is more of a tom-boy type than a girly girl. She is well trained with a sword but lacks the social and hospitality skills of a Laird's wife. As the story progresses she has to learn how to be a woman in more ways than one. The hero, Colin, who is also a strong warrior, has deal with being a new Laird and controlling his lust for Makenna, The story is made more interesting because of the return of Laurel and Connor from book one. This really added to the depth and appeal of the story.

This book is adventurous, romantic, lusty, passionate, steamy, intimate and has a good storyline. I liked this one and am looking forward to book three.

More Enjoyable Than Book 1

Once again you have a woman with a strong will, spunk and determination, but not a feminine bone in her body. I sympathized the position her father put her in and you could feel her turmoil. This book holds your attention in the way it is developed. The relationship between Makenna and Colin is not boring. You get it all in this romance novel.

Wed a highlamder

Story fun my favorite part was the end battle . The book got good at that part. I liked them bringing Connor/Laurel for a part of the story. I wished we could of met Collin/Makennas baby . I think that would of been a good ending.

Good story line

I liked the story line and the the characters and their interaction. I am not big on how it is narrated. She makes the female voices sound whiny too often. There are better Scottish accents done by other narrators. There are certain books I like from this narrator, but I wish she would not do Scottish ones.

I will continue listening to the series.
