About this listen

Like everything daredevil Gabe Sharpe does, wooing Virginia Waverly is a high-stakes game. Ever since her brother, Roger, died racing Lord Gabriel, Virginia has yearned to take her revenge on the reckless lord by beating him at his own sport. But when she challenges Lord Gabriel to a race, the hellion called the “Angel of Death” counters with a marriage proposal!

Gabe knows Virginia is in dire financial straits — so why not marry her and solve both of their problems? She claims to be appalled by his proposal, but her response to his kisses says otherwise. And when the two of them begin to unravel the truth behind Roger’s death, Gabe takes the greatest gamble of all, offering the courageous beauty something more precious than any inheritance: true love.

Very enjoyable read/listen !

To Wed a Wild Lord: Hellions of Halstead Hall is a very enjoyable read ! I have been enjoying this series very much & this instalment may be one of my two favorite so far. You can't help but feel for the main characters & all they have been through.

Fun and Entertaining!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend this to anyone following the series. This book is not as good as the first; just as good as the second, and MUCH better (sadly, as Miranda was my favorite character) than the 3rd.

Gabriel lived up to his reputation!

Gabriel's character lived up to what I had envisioned for him. I thoroughly enjoyed Oliver's story - 5 stars, Jarrett's was okay, 3 1/2 stars, and Minerva's was pretty good, 4 stars. Gabriel's story was definitely 5 stars. The story flowed, didn't feel rushed, fake or make you shake your head and wish it would move along. Both characters were strong and didn't waffle in their feelings for each other or take forever to settle their issues. The back story of the parents of Halstead Hall is slowly coming together. The end of that part of the story is still a mystery while each book reveals that character's memories. I can't wait for Celia's story. She intrigued me in this book. The narrator did a great job. His voice was easy to listen to and had distinctive sounds for each character.

A very enjoyable listen

Would you consider the audio edition of To Wed a Wild Lord to be better than the print version?

I found the narrator to be very compelling, therefore, the story came to life through his narration.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene at the race course at the end of the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I love the romantic scenes in books and this one had several.

Not bad.

The book itself is actually pretty good, but the narration isn't great. The narration didn't stop me from listening, but it certainly could have been better. I've really enjoyed the Hellion series, but I think that I would have enjoyed reading them much better than listening to them. The first two books in the series have TERRIBLE narrators. The third book has a pretty good narrator and this books narrator is only so-so. If you are thinking of getting the whole series, reading is a much better way to go due to the narrators.

I do like the series though!!!!

Disappointed...

I have been waiting somewhat patiently for this book and I was soooo disappointed with the 4th installment. I hope the 5th and final is better. The story was good, but by no means up to the standards of a Sabrina Jefferies story. I fell asleep twice listening to the story. I'm really diappointed. The actor selected to narrate the story, well I have nothing nice to say so I'll just leave it there.

Just ok

It was ok. The story was interesting and the heroine believable. Lots about fears and bets. Just ok.

To wed a wild lord by Sabrina Jeffries

This is book 4 of the series and it continues to be a great source of entertainment. This book is about Gabriel, who is not only Suffering of his parents deaths, but also the death of his best friend. His friend died in a carriage race that Gabriel feels is his fault. The sister of his best friend hates Gabriel as she feels that it is his fault that her brother died. Gabriel feels that he should offer himself in marriage to the sister. With all of the feelings of hurt and suffering, will they ever have their happily ever after. Great read.

I loved the story and the narrator

The story kept me listening and the narrator was a real plus. I'd like to hear more books he has narrated. Sometimes I prefer a male reader, and his voice worked fine for this story.
