About this listen

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Crossfire® saga.

You can't believe all of them, but can you trust any of them?

Lily Black was presumed dead for years.
Now, she's back in the unquestioning arms of her loving husband, Kane.

Where she's been remains a mystery, but her past sins haunt her and bring deadly danger into the lives of the family.

Meanwhile Aliyah, Kane's mother, has worked hard for her position of power. She has never believed Lily is who she says she is, and will stop at nothing to expose her.

Amy, Kane's sister-in-law, has always been a pawn in the dangerous games this family plays. But she knows she deserves more, and will do anything to claim the biggest prize.

Three women fight to outrun their pasts.

But could they have more in common than they think?

With the trademark emotional intensity and scorching sensuality of multimillion bestseller Sylvia Day, the dangerous and sultry Blacklist duology comes to its riveting conclusion.

Too close was strange by far! The unusual approach and build up was very vague for sure! Too Far was better, but still closed solely with the authors input! Sylvia has a special gift for creating wonderful character, and I thought she did a good job here too, but lacked in using them to story build a stronger story and climax.

Enjoyed the narrators in book two more than book one. Loved the story line and the mystery behind the characters. When I thought I had them figured out, something else would happen. Nice work. The Crossfire series is my all-time favorite. Happy for the pop-in mentions of Gideon and Eva.

Nice story

This was a great book. I listen none stop. I just wish there was a little bit more ending on each character. It would have been even better to have the main characters have children in the end. Overall I loved it so much I have told all my friends to buy this book!!!!

Amazing

.... to keep tracked of in this 2 part series.
This review is for books 1 and 2.
If you like this author then sick with it thru the 1st half of book 1. It takes thst much time to set up the story line.
You have 2 main charactets, Caine and Lily, a host of half sibs for Caine, in laws, a major domo, a demented female, etc. Hopefully you get why I wrote, stick with it.

Lots of characters

Loved the ending with the details. The book is a bit Different from what I am use to but I found it refreshing to listen to.

2 book ties everything together

This continues where book 1 left off and continues the saga of this…. I’ll just say complicated family. There is so much to unpack with them that I’m just going to tell you that the writing is fantastic, the narration is excellent.. and if you enjoy Sylvia Day, you definitely will enjoy this one!!

Worth every second of listening or reading time!!

Great listen!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Blacklist duet and admire the new direction Ms. Day takes in her writing. I would have awarded 4.5 stars if I had the ability. One lack of the Fifth star had to do with the portrayal of Kane in the narration. I found it jarring in both books that Witte had a deeper voice than Kane. What a pity the actor performing Kane in the final epilogue (which has a timeline prior to both books) couldn’t have narrated Kane throughout. Also, although there are many references to sex, those scenes are not as detailed those in the Crossfire novels. Don’t worry that final post epilogue will satisfy (pun intended) those who enjoy Ms. Day’s skill with depicting the depths (pun unintended) of physical love and obsession. Neither of these items that caught my attention should keep someone from reading the Blacklist books. They are intricately plotted and page turners that will keep you reading long past bedtime.

Excellent story except for. . .

A little different from what I am used to reading/listening and took a little to get into the book, but ended up being a fun story with some crazy twists and turns that made it fun!

Slow start but amazing finish

The story was interesting and really kept me guessing. I loved how the story was told by different characters and points of view.
Kane and Lily are both sexy and complex. The other characters are compelling, too. Everything worked in this book except for one glaring detail: the intimate scenes. There was so much potential for real heat. The chemistry between these two was great. Unfortunately, when the "hot" scenes finally happen, it's like they're being described by a doctor. It's very distracting and not at all sexy to be hearing scientific terms used (example: the word "labia" is used more than once.
Otherwise, the books were entertaining. The performances were terrific.

Very Enjoyable
