About this listen

From the #1 New York Times best-selling author of Bared to You

Years ago, Evangeline Hollis spent a blistering night with a darkly seductive man she can’t forget. But that evening of addictive pleasure has become a disaster of biblical proportions: She’s been branded with the Mark of Cain. Now Eve is thrust into a world where sinners are marked and drafted to kill demons. Her former one-night stand, Cain, is now her mentor - and his equally sexy brother Abel is her new boss. And Eve has become the latest point of contention in the oldest case of sibling rivalry in history.... Cursed by God, hunted by demons, desired by Cain and Abel...all in a day's work.

if your not offended by biblical inference

A good listen if your into paranormal genre, not offended by biblical inference or sexual content. I enjoyed it and intend to get other books in this series. I'd say it's worth the credit.

Needed something new and I found it!

Iv read all the billionaire hottie gets sweet innocent damaged girl books....Bc that's what I like. But it can get a little old. This was a PERFECT change of pace. I really enjoy S. Day's style of writing. Also, I am a religious person so it was fun and interesting following all the parallels with the bible. I'm routing for eve and Cain! Can't wait to start the next book.....Now!

Interesting Story but hard to hear

This is a very interesting story on an old classic. It kept me entertained the whole way through. But, I had a very hard time hearing the lower register voice of the narrator. Even with my noise canceling headphones I had to turn the volume up almost all the way to hear the mens voice but that in turn made the womens voice super loud!

Not sure yet......

I am not sure how I feel about the book. The biblical references really didn't bother me but the story really didn't grab my attention.

The relationship between Eve and the brothers wasn't believable so I was not captivated.

I believe in finishing what I start so I will complete the series and hopefully my opinion will change.

really got hooked on the book

If you could sum up Eve of Darkness in three words, what would they be?

Funny, sexy, action

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cain and eve love them together, yet I loved when abel was around to

Which scene was your favorite?

There where a couple the scene. One scene with abel and eve in the hall way hot. And another when both brothers where together they made me laugh

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh in the good ways

Any additional comments?

After reading this it makes you want to research all the biblical stuff.
I bought the book couple of months ago and I couldn't put it down and I was so happy they added it to audible listen to it again. Can't wait for the next next book to be added and the next lol

WELCOMED INTRODUCTION TO A NEW LISTEN!

Over the years of being an audible listener I have always stuck to historical listens or contemporary listens. I have never once ventured into the paranormal listen until the Marked series.

Sylvia Day made be a loyal reader once I listened to the crossfire series. After book 3...i realized I didn't want to start another series since crossfire left me hanging. I wanted to switch gears to a different listen to take my mind of the sour feeling of being left hanging...I decided to flip through SD's bookshelf and stumbled on the Marked series..I was skeptical i would get through the first few minutes but figured what the heck, worst case I could request to return the book? Let me say, SD awakened a new sort of interest with this listen!

Given I loved Jill Redfield in the Crossfire series, I figured she was a safe bet to walk me through breaking into this category of listens! And what a splendid job she did!

I loved Eve and her strong, formidable personality. At 18, without knowing it, she was destined to be marked simply because she was to much temptation to Cain- son of Adam & Eve. I will say at the beginning I was a bit lost, I kept stopping wondering if this was the first book. Get through the first 2 chapters and it will make sense!

10 years later, Eve is about to answer for her unknowing crime, and of course just to keep things interesting, Abel - Cain's brother - is the one to deliver the punishment in a very unusual and utterly heated way.

Now, the adventure begins with Eve trying to figure out what she is, why she was punished, questioning thing far beyond her comprehension and realizing everything she knew as a mortal and all her desires as a mortal are nothing compared with the path her life has taken now. Along for the ride are the lover she once fell head over heels for Cain and another man she can't quite make what to do with - Abel. Along the way she battles different species that seem to really want her dead barely hours after she is marked!

WE'RE ON THE EVE OF A GREAT NEW SUSPENSE SERIES

Love love love Sylvia Day's books and this is the start of a promising paranormal listen which is a fast paced story about celestial retribution as Cain and Abel fight and kill Demons for God but both lookalike brothers have fallen for the same woman - Eve but one brother marked her for servitude to fight Demons for God and one loves her. She becomes a pawn in the supernatural fight that has witches, werewolves, archangels, various demons, angels and, of course, marked souls and we, the listeners, are thrown in to watch the torment and mayhem as it unfolds.

Skilfully written and fresh the imaginative world building by SD is a totally new concept in the paranormal world and we have no idea what or who we are going to encounter next... we hear about God and his troops but what about Lucifer? It's got an attention grabbing first chapter then we are thrown into six weeks prior to it, couple this with sex, violence, drama, intrigue, plot twists, romance, likeable main characters and some evil ones too. You end up feeling like you're on a great mysterious funfair ride however, you don't know what it does, what comes next or where, when or how it's going to eventually finish but you know it's gonna be one hell of a ride and so all you can do is hold on tight and scream gimme more more more.

Worth a credit? Oh my God after this review..... it's a heavenly YES of course, and I pray Audible will give us the other 4 books in this series.
