Without a working office, Jeremiah is tasked with repairing the automated weather station on Oxley Island. It’s remote, only accessible by boat, and with there being a good chance of crocodiles, he’s dreading it.
Tully, on the other hand, can’t wait.
With a boat licence, his dad’s boat, and two days alone with Jeremiah—and with thunderstorms likely—to Tully, it’s another perfect adventure.
But their plans go awry when Jeremiah’s research gets far too close for comfort. Thirty years ago, the day his life was touched by lightning, he was changed forever.
It’s about to change again, only this time he’s determined to set things right.

I enjoyed both Tully and Jeremiah's characters, they're both charming and likeable Aussie guys and I love how this author writes such vulnerabilities into her leading men, and that despite Tully being hurt by Jem's words (or lack there of), he doesn't hold onto it. NR Walkers words paint vivid pictures with great worldbuilding and I've thoroughly enjoyed this series.
I must admit, I was completely blindsided when "things went sideways", there I was, happily listening along, my attention divided because I was listening while working and bam! all of a sudden I wanted to cry (lol! a somewhat typical reaction I have with this authors work). Now the book has been designated for a "bed-time relisten" so it has my complete and undivided attention.
🎧 Narration comment: Glen Lloyd's narration just keeps getting better. He suits these characters - I had no problem distinguishing characters, his rhythm, tone and inflections have done a great job bringing all the emotion of the story to life..

I LOVED that this was about a new topic. I have become so tired of the same old mm romances. Tully was so sweet with Jeremiah. Their love grew into something so beautiful! This is not a series I will forget. But that seems to be true of all of Walker’s series!
Oh my heart!!! 💕

I once heard that getting hit by lightning once somehow makes you more likely to get hit again. Walker’s description of Jeremiah and Tully’s experience when Jem got struck was riveting. I never heard details about entrance and exit burns, nor had I heard anything about what a direct lightening strike actually does to the body.
Glen Lloyd is the perfect narrator for Walker’s Australia based novels.,
Shocking, really!
