About this listen

Siane has dreamed of attaining the dark queen Callai’s hand for most of her life. Callai is a mystery, and she holds many secrets, some of which involve Siane herself. Centuries ago, the goddess of light was defeated by Callai and the other demon lords, who split the world between themselves to rule. Siane grew up in the Dominion of Shadow, and from an early age she dreamed of becoming Callai’s consort. Fortune favored her, and she managed to become one of the handful of students and potential suitors of the queen who resided in the Palace of Shadow. When she’s given the opportunity to impress Callai and have some time alone with her, Siane jumps at the opportunity. Little does she know that Callai has her own motives and secrets that are entwined with Siane’s past as well.

I loved these characters and the universe that was somehow created in such a short story was amazing.

I thought it was a decent listen. Kolai was very interesting and I was very content with how the romance turned out. It almost went too smoothly at times but it's a short story so I'll give it a pass. overall, it was a nice diversion.

A cute and interesting story.

If you have some free time this might fill it. Good rounded fantasy piece for so few words.

Nice short story

Really interesting characters that are quite complete for a book this short! Good story, beautiful budding love. Great!

Great book!

Definitely an interesting pairing. I could see how this could have been longer or even part of a series. However, as a short story it was still enjoyable and never overused characters.

Darkness and Light falling in love, really intriguing world building, characters I enjoyed learning more about. The narrator was perfect for the characters and story too.

This was great and had a great ending but it also left me wanting to know more about the world, about the previous parts of Callai's life, and I'd love to see Siane grow into her own and have to deal with what she absorbed.

I would definitely read more in this world, even with entirely different ladies falling for each other.

This checked all my boxes

I loved this short story and I hope to see more in the future. While the story is short the possibility of more in this story is vast.

Absolutely Fantastic

It was a good short story. This story has less than 10 chapters, and I have to say I'm sad it ended so soon. It felt like this could be the beginning to a nice trilogy, and I hope the author does explore that option! Honestly I don't think I would have called this a romance, but I suppose it does fall in that category, however short it is. If you liked this and want something longer, I'd recommend something from S. D. Simper.

Good, but not long enough for me!
