About this listen

Why survive the apocalypse when you can become the apocalypse?

Nature is dying. Perhaps before the world is turned into an industrious machine, nature itself can play one final trump card to save itself.

Summoned to a new world, a mushroom-loving mycologist needs to grow up and grow stronger in order to accomplish the goal that brought them to this new place: to save nature from the system that the sentient races have created.

Stats, levels, classes, and skills are all well and good, but when you're a Child of Poverty in the slums of City Nineteen, there's little you can do to change the world. Not unless you're willing to think outside the box!

I am about done with this book (little over an hour till done) It takes a long time to get anywhere. I have yet to reach the end to see if the next book will be worth trying. As of now, just be patient with the book. It takes forever to get anywhere. Hopefully the last hour gets somewhere and let's the the next book start with a better pace.

Slow but interesting with anticipation growing

Enjoyable. I wish other writers would take notes on writing lit rpg from books like these. Thankfully, you won't hear the characters sheet a zillion times or endless repetition of ability descriptions like HWFWM. This was a pleasant story of a unnerving adult trapped in a child's body. would recommend. Kind of expensive for how short.

Enjoyable story FAR too short

It's your average slice of life, litrpg. We get a lot of good world-building, a good look at the system, and, just as it ends, the Inciting incident that pulls the mc out of her new ordinary into something more.

What we don't get is a whole lot of action, and there are no stats. There are skill levels and some other crunchy bits to the system. Overall it's a promising start to another series by a talented author.

Loved this book! It’s a little short but don’t let that discourage you. Highly recommended!

Can’t wait for the next book!

They are short; no getting around that. But they are good. If you are interested in a charming story about revenge, with a lead who is simultaneously righteous, cold, clever, and kind, this series is worth your time.

If you are worried about the stat pages, they are done well here. There are more of them in the first book, since more is changing, but they feel well spaced and not over long, even as the lead grows.

Narration is well done with distinct voices, and an honestly impressive and consistent child voice. I had a little trouble understanding the accent when listening on bad speakers, but that's on me. And it feels setting accurate.

I'm a fan of some of RavensDagger's other works. This feels feels distinct in the way it shows the lead's feelings more obviously, and I think it works well for this story.

I think this series has the potential to fit into my top 20% of all time.

Got the first 2 on sale and was convinced to pay a credit for the 3rd

This story has three books, I've read all of them. The story is really fun, it's cute and comedic, a nice break from the more serious stories and very well written. I would give it 5 stars but the story ends halfway through with no continuation. The author dropped this book after book number 3 and it doesn't appear they have any intention of picking it back up. I don't mean to say anything bad about the author, you do what you need to do, life happens. But I can't give it 5 stars the way that it ends with no plans of continuation.

Cute and Fun, but no ending.

I feel like it should have had another hour or two after she made her decision. I'm gonna buy the next book, but I hope there is a lot of progression in it.

Fun. But all build, no bite.

This was q good listen, interesting world, interesting system and skills, but it's just a really slow world build in this first book. I would have loved a bit more action or use of her skills, maybe a trip into a dungeon, but I presume that starts in the next book.

A slow build to what should be a good story

I held off on this one because I didn't think it'd be my to my liking. Ravendagger proved anything could be to my liking. Great job to both Ravendagger and Savy Des-Etages you really brought out how wonderfull this story is.

wow just wonderful

The narrator and characters were great, and the setting was very interesting. Too many fantasy settings have technology stunted for seemingly no reason, as if the existence of magic kills innovation.

That said, the story is too short. Up till near the end, I would consider it a mix of a survival story, slice of life story, and business story. Then, out of virtually nowhere, the inciting incident occurs and the book ends. This is an absurd plot structure, and sours the feel good vibes inspired by the slice of life aspect of the book.

Great narration, fun characters
