About this listen

Delilah hates me. But I'm going to marry her anyway.

Delilah is different. Quiet. Reserved. Smart. But she doesn't want anything to do with me. So, of course, I have to have her. She's got the sultry librarian look, full lips, all those curves; I can't get enough. I'll convince her to be mine. Just one night. I never fail.

But I'm her new boss. And if anyone at the office found out about our one-night stand, we would both be ruined. So we'll keep it to one night of passion. Then we'll go our separate ways. That was the plan anyway.

But now I can't let her go. Because she's carrying my babies. All three of them. And I won't let her do this alone.

Contains mature themes.

Three not so secret babies!

Romance: 💙❤️💚💜

Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏
Character development: 😊😄😘😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Delilah Kent - she works as an accountant for the investors at Kiefer and Associates, a commercial real estate company. She has a ton of social anxiety, so she doesn’t like being around a lot of people. She keeps to herself at work, doesn’t go out much, has a small office on the top floor with no windows, and likes to go to the break room two floors down to eat lunch because unlike the break room on her floor, that one doesn’t have windows. Also, since the owner of the company is the only one, she really talks to, there have been rumors of them having an affair. Other than that, most of the employees of the company don’t pay any attention to her, she could be invisible as far as they are concerned.

The Hero: Preston Walker - He is the new owner of the company and is quite known in the media as a wealthy playboy who is seen with different curvy women every night. When he sees Delilah, he is immediately interested in the intelligent, quiet beauty. He asks her out to dinner right away and she accepts. They end up spending the night together, but Delilah sneaks out before Preston wakes up.

The Story: Preston isn’t sure why Delilah snuck out on him, but he knows he wants more with her. He realizes that she is different than the women he usually dates, in that she wouldn’t be interested in the baubles he usually gifts his woman with, like the diamond necklaces and tennis bracelets he keeps at his place as morning after gifts for his conquests. Preston looks into her and finds out that she hasn’t taken a vacation in over four years, so he purchases an artists retreat vacation for her and forces her to take the vacation. It is during this vacation where she starts feeling nauseous and eventually finds out she is pregnant with triplets.

This was a pretty good story if you like surprise pregnancy romance. I like a light surprise pregnancy or secret baby romance every now and then after reading some darker romances. This one was a bit different because Delilah was carrying triplets. I like the fact that she wanted to handle things herself at first, but eventually got smarter and accepted help from Preston. I mean why do it all yourself while you have a wealthy baby daddy and the kids are just as much his as yours. Though I could see her point in wanting to keep things quiet in the office since it was already rumored that she was sleeping with her old boss, and she turns up preggo not long after Preston took over.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Jeremy York and Kendall Taylor. I am not all that fond of Kendall Taylor’s voice but it doesn’t annoy me like some narrator’s I have heard. It just isn’t one that I enjoy like some and her voice for male characters is awful. Jeremy York has a sort of gravelly voice which I like well enough, though he isn’t one of my favorites. I like him though so overall, the narration wasn’t bad, but wasn’t as good as some.

Sweet, spicy, and feisty!

Loved their dynamic. The surprise pregnancy meets boss/employee tropes initially pulled me in but then we get the surprise almost reverse grumpy/sunshine trope that turned the tables and the results had me cackling at the MMC quite a few times. I loved all the sweet moments, caresses, and how their look on a healthy relationship morphed into a strong loving bond.

Pretty great!

I really liked this book! It was pretty much instalove (esp on the part of the MMC), and while the the FMC wasn’t completely enamored from the beginning, it was hardly an enemies to lovers story.

I liked the pace and progression of the romance and it was completely appropriate (rather than rushed and unbelievable).

The narrators did a great job too!

Also, it was great to find out Preston was a real person (see book 2), but we don’t have a connection yet between him and Tobias.

I’m going on to book 4!

Delilah the Devil

The story was cute BUT the FMC was f()$&&@ annoying and I dislike the character immensely.
She was self centered, selfish, stubborn, snarky. I get she was “independent” but she created all the negatives in her life based on her own beliefs.
I loved the MMC, it was definitely insta love for him. One good thing is it was HEA endingbr />

Decent Quick Romance

Decent listen when you’re waiting to pick up your kids in a carpool line… use earphones because the 🌶️ scenes are.. there. 😂 nothing to write home about but they’re at least written..

Main characters:

Delilah: described as an unflattering curvy introvert who is a a genius- no one knows she exists- her new boss, is the only person in the world who finds her attractive and instantly falls in love with her.

Preston: described as a stud who is a womanizer and goes through women like a bag of potato chips… sees Delilah and instantly falls in lust with her and immediately changes his way…

Of course she gets knocked up, they don’t use protection. She doesn’t even panic about catching a some sort of std from him- seems like they end up staying together but the epilogue doesn’t close up anything, they have their triplets, and finally get to hook up for the first time after a year.
