I loved listening to this book!! I really really enjoyed that the author used his wit and talent to entertain without relying on endless sex scenes and using the f word in every sentence. Bravo!!

Wonderful adventure

“True Fiction” was my introduction to author Lee Goldberg. A pleasant mixture of action/adventure and tongue in cheek humor. Our hero, a writer, finds one of his concepts all too true. He goes on the run with a dog walker/author wrangler and fights against injustice by the CIA,..or is it? It's an original plot that might be credible?

I have read many books by this author. I love the Eve Ronin series and the Fox and O’Hare series.
Because of that I had high hopes. Explicit sexual content seemed unnecessary and out of line with his other novels. The story was interesting, but I am on the fence if I will continue with Ian Ludlow.

This book is a parody of techno thrillers, a wish-fulfilment novel for techno-thriller authors, and a satire aimed at government intelligence agencies, private security companies, and Hollywood.

It almost works.

The protagonist is an author who finds himself swept up in Nefarious Dealings® and discovers the secret agent in his soul.

In the end, it's just a bit too stupid to be effective, but there are certainly entertaining bits.

I have the full series (I like Goldberg's other fiction, so I bought them on spec), so at some point I'll be continuing it. But satires and parodies work better without the constraints of series fiction, so I don't expect all that much from them.

Story was ok. Not my favorite of this genre. What could have made it better was the narrator. I listened at 1.5 speed just to get through it. The narrator made it sound cheesy. Not the right voice for this genre in my opinion.

Loved it! I'd like to read more stories by this author. An intriguing and, in places, a humorous story. I've never read anything even close previously. I may read it again just because I like it so much.
