About this listen

Trust Agents has been widely acclaimed for its new approach to online marketing. Now, in this revised and updated edition, social media veterans Chris Brogan and Julien Smith show you how to tap into the power of social networks to build your brand's influence, reputation, and profits. Combining high-level theory and practical advice, they deliver actionable strategies and real case studies that show how social media can positively impact your business. Let Trust Agents give you the keys to building customer loyalty online so your business can succeed in new markets and channels today!

There's no question that the Internet has changed the way we do business—especially when it comes to marketing. Consumer environments are short on trust and populated by consumers who are cynical, savvy, and informed. Though it's easier than ever to reach your customers, it's less likely that they'll listen. Today, the most valuable online currency isn't the dollar, but trust itself. At the same time, social networks and personal connections have far more influence on consumers than your marketing messages ever will—unless your business knows how to harness them.

In Trust Agents, two social-media veterans tell you how to tap into the power of these networks to build your brand's influence, reputation, and profits. Trust agents aren't necessarily marketers or salespeople; they're the digitally savvy people who use the Web to humanize businesses using transparency, honesty, and genuine relationships. As a result, they wield enough online influence to build up or bring down a business's reputation.

This audiobook will explain how to build profitable relationships with trust agents, or become one yourself.

Critic reviews

"Wow! Every once in a while you find a book that is a sit up in your chair, take notes, tell your friends, change your life breakthrough. This is that book. No kidding, you can trust me." (Seth Godin, author of Tribes)

Hard to hear some of the voicing

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He did not seem excited over the subject matter and mumbled through some of the writing.

Best Practices of Being Trustworthy

I'm a Chris Brogan fan and I enjoyed "Trust Agents". If taken independently, many of the points made in this book seem like common sense. But collectively as put together in this book, Brogan and Smith lay forth a good plan to establish yourself. I feel they lay out ways to be a good communicator that can be applied to many aspects of your life.

Very well written

Great book on trust. Got to listen to it over and over again, it's a resource you need to come back. Too much great information learn the first time you listen to it, keep listening until you see results.

Relevant For "Authority Marketing"

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES! I have been following Chris Brogan for years and have always enjoyed his unique take on how to become a leader in your space. Somehow when this book came out I missed reading it but was thrilled to see that it was available on Audible.

What other book might you compare Trust Agents Revised and Updated to and why?

Trust Agents (and Chris) remind me of the influence and practicality of Seth Godin. If you are looking for a philosophy of becoming a leader in your industry, this is a great place to start.

What does Chris Brogan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love hearing Chris read this book himself. Throughout I can hear his inflections on certain wry comments and really enjoyed listening to the bits that he read himself. Because I have listened to him a bunch over the years on webinars and podcasts, I was ready for his more laid back and less frenetic approach to narrating.

Any additional comments?

While this book is a little outdated in some of its references, I was actually interested in it for the information about being a authority in my field and that part will not ever go out of style.
