About this listen

The sequel to His Wicked Games.

After their passionate weekend at the Cunningham estate, Lily and Calder have decided to take their relationship to the next level. But love in the real world isn't all fun and games - especially when it becomes clear that Calder still harbors his share of secrets.

When Calder suddenly suggests they slow things down, Lily knows something is seriously wrong - and she's not afraid to pull out the big guns. She makes Calder a proposal he can't refuse: an ongoing match of Truth or Dare that she hopes will bring them closer together.

But as the contest increases in intensity, so do the stakes, and suddenly Lily and Calder have to face the question they've both been avoiding: what sort of relationship do they have when they strip away all the games?

Truth or Dare

This book continues with Calder and Lily’s story. Although it was good, I did not feel it was as good as book 1. Interesting when sex was taken out of the relationship. I enjoyed it. Natalie Duke did a great job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

My Truthful Review

Would you consider the audio edition of Truth or Dare to be better than the print version?

Absolutely not, but it is almost as good

What did you like best about this story?

I love the games that Calder and Lily play to try and figure out their new relationship. And how through their games they come to know, trust and love one another.

Have you listened to any of Natalie Duke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, one. His Wicked Games book 1. This one is very similar (as it should be). I feel that she did a much better job with Truth or Dare than she did on His Wicked Games. My opinion is that her voice was much clearer, her enunciations were much better this time around and the story did not feel rushed this time.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Are you ready to play?

Any additional comments?

If you haven’t experienced the world of the Lily Frasier and Calder Cunningham you are truly missing out. This is a wonderful love story with lots of twist and turns. Not to mention games, and who doesn’t love to play games?

IT WAS SLOWLY FALLING APART.. UNTIL THE GAME BEGAN

This book was good but sadly (IMO) it just wasn't as good as book 1 as it was a constant struggle for Lily to keep the relationship working with the now broke and broken Calder. One minute he's keen and talking about what he wants to sexually do to Lily then, a phone call changes everything, and he starts to pull away both physically and mentally. But Lily wasn't about to let him brood alone and pull back from her - so, with a lot of thought, she tried hard to keep their connection going.

However, taking sex out of their relationship, left an awkward space where secrets festered, assumptions were made and Calder became a frustrated ticking time bomb. Their bond was stretched but neither one could walk away and a long game of Truth or Dare (that spanned weeks) finally drew them closer, revealed truths, revealed pent up emotional feelings and revealed a heartbreaking decision that had to be made. But sadly Fate had another blow to deliver that would shatter their fragile bond.

There was a lot of roller coaster feels to this listen as Lily tried desperately to keep their secret and tentative relationship from dying and there was angst, a bit of Paparazzi drama, sex and a lot of crossing your fingers hoping that they'd come through a fraught time with their hearts intact and able to move forward... together. Told entirely from Lily's POV and the narration was good.

Worth a credit? This was very enjoyable and there were humorous times along with all the romance, sex and stress, but I wish I'd spent the time revisiting them in book 1 again to refresh my memory of both the start and build up to their very hot intense relationship. Nevertheless I still found this was a creditworthy listen.

Steamy romance!

I love this series. Lily and Calder made for one steamy romance! The plot and character development was great as well. I enjoyed getting to know the characters as they began to open up. Can't wait to read more. I enjoyed both the author and narrator! I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
