About this listen

Spoiled yet brokenhearted New Yorker meets gorgeous, kindhearted Southern gentleman.

Cadence Lewis has been dancing before she could walk. Living in New York with her parents she has the chance to go to the best dance school in the country, but when her parents divorce she’s forced to leave her dreams behind and move to her mom’s small country hometown.

Cadence believes that all men are like her father: cold, unloving, and selfish. Barrick Carpenter has made Candace's life eventful since the day she stepped onto her grandma’s farm.

After witnessing Cadence’s heart shattering a million pieces, can Barrick put it back together and show Cadence that everyone isn't like her father? Can he convince her to let love in?

Candace...the story begins!

Life as she knows it is about to change, Candace loved her life. Now with the divorce of her parents, she is sentenced to life on the farm with her grandmother. Leaving the big city, her friends, her dancing and her popularity will never be replaced. Or will it? Barrick works on the farm and is smitten with the new addition the family. But will he be enough for this city girl? This is my first listen by Casey Peeler, and what a start to this series! I am addicted to Candace's story. It's real and gritty, and truly shows just how life can turn on a dime! Living in the country and learning the value of life, Candace is about to see things much clearer. It's fun meeting her no nonsense grandmother, the change in her mother and the true colors of her father, at least through her eyes. I cannot wait to see where the next book is going to take her.

Ariel Royce and Christopher Rourke are both new voices for me, and I thought they fit their roles perfectly. Royce has the voice for the new adult Candace, a little snooty, a little vulnerable and a lot of attitude. Rourke has the southern twang for Barrick. Sweet and swoony, he is one that easy to love. I look forward to more of their collaboration.

Tutus and Cowboy Boots

Tutus & Cowboy Boots: A Small Town Dance Romance (Part One) is a coming of age novel with a small town flair. I absolutely adored this novel. Ms. Mae is a hoot and a favorite character of mind. The author brings two people from different ways of living life together a a passionate and entertaining way. Barrick is an amazing character and a swoon-worthy country boy. Cadence's character was exactly what I would expect for a girl whose life I turned upside down. Supporting characters are great too. I enjoyed the dancing aspect of the story. The writing style is captivating and keeps you listening to the end. This does end in a cliffhanger leading into book two of this duet. I'm looking forward to listening to book two when available in this heartbreaking audio.

Ariel Royce, Christopher Rourke dual narration was well performed. These two narrators complemented each other well bringing the characters and their story to reality. Christopher Rourke brought out the southern small town charm and Ariel gave us the big New Yorker inflection. Highly entertaining.

Fabulous listen.

Good wholesome story

I enjoyed listening to This story but I was worried that the young lady would remain bad attitude. But sometimes it only takes a little kindness from someone
