Publisher's summary

Miss Alice Bursnell is determined to wreak revenge on Nathaniel Eastwood, Viscount Abingdon, for the seduction, ruin, and death of her beloved twin sister. But how to expose a seducer without falling prey herself? As she gets closer to Nathaniel, she finds she is in serious danger of following in her sister's much-too-tempted footsteps. The man is nothing like the heartless rake she expected...and his kisses are truly divine. Could she be wrong about him?

When a mysterious and gorgeous woman confronts Nathaniel at a fancy ball, he suspects she has murder on her mind - his own. But the more he tries to determine who the deceptively innocent beauty is - and what she's up to - the deeper he falls under her alluring spell. Nathaniel fears he's in imminent danger of losing his life...or worse, his heart.

Great Story

Wonderful story with excellent narrative. I want to hear Nick’s story next. After his loss he deserves happiness as well.

FABULOUS!!!

Loved this story, one of my favorites! Love the leading characters…. They are sooo refreshing. There’s a couple twists in the storyline that keeps it exciting . Narrator is fantastic also, although I speeded up the narrative. Thank you for great reading cannot wait for the next one!!

Really Good

I don't normally listen to books with no reviews but I'm so glad I took a chance.
She was one of a set of twins. Her sister died in childbirth after being sent to a convent to have her baby as a ruined women. She feels as though she is the only one mourning her sister and values to get revenge on this unknown man. When she discovers the culprit she is confused, as the man is nothing like someone who would do this or someone who her sister would be interested in. As the story unfolds she comes understand the nature of revenge and it's worth, what honesty is, how love 'works', what ruination is and how to let go.
The male main character is just close enough to being awkward without going over and all the more perfect for it. The female main is strong willed and not at all simply. She stays the same strong person for the full time. It's the first in the series so we are introduced to a number of characters that i look forward to getting to know better in the coming books. This is her story but from what we see of her close friends they already don't seem flat.
It's not perfect in it's research of the time but it's better then most. It didn't feel like it was unnecessarily repeating its self and it also didn't feel like things were added as filler to make it longer. They do get intimate if that's a no go for you.
The narrator good in my opinion. I sped her up and she was fine for me.

New (to me) Author

This is my first book by Elizabeth Bright. The unusual plot line and likable characters kept me engaged. The story revolves around two sets of twins who unbeknownst to each other have become romantically involved. This book focuses on one of the couples and how they resolve the conflict between their intense family loyalty and their new burgeoning love. It was a low angst story. The sex scenes had a quality of awe and innocence that was a nice switch from the typical HR. The plot took a few twists and turns to get to the resolution. There weren’t any cliffhangers, but the book left me wanting to know what happened to the other couple. it might be worth a credit to find out.

Nice

It’s nice to see a woman in charge. She does become undecided at times but it is because of the way she was raised. She wants to break through the mores of the time and be more in charge. Eventually she makes it and it is a nice story.

Great storyline but too much unsaid

There were a few times when I wanted to give up on this one but I made it to the end. It was a good story but weighed down by the misunderstandings. It’s hard to connect with a story when the characters can’t connect with each other. Looking at the next story it seems the same storyline continues and I am intrigued but not sure I have the patience for all the run around.
