About this listen

When an old friend calls in a favor, Blake Brier has no choice but to accept. A runaway in over her head proves not what she seems. Brier must navigate uncharted waters if he's to bring her back alive.

The latest installment from USA Today best-selling author L.T. Ryan and former Detective Gregory Scott, Blake Brier returns in the thrilling sequel to Unleashed.

When Blake Brier gets a call from FBI Special Agent Andrew Harrison asking for help, he's obligated to assist. Looking out for a family member in need whose daughter has run away, Harrison asks Brier if he can use his unofficial channels and unorthodox approach to bring this to resolution.

Brier agrees, but after arriving quickly, he finds there's a lot more going on in the sleepy New England town. If he's not careful, he might end up among the missing. Lives hang in the balance as Brier's investigation guides him into uncharted territory. And, if he's not careful, he may never find his way back.

Uncharted pits Brier against a deadly adversary unlike any other he's faced. An epic adventure awaits with all the nonstop action, suspense, and thrills of an L. T. Ryan-and-Gregory Scott collaboration. Fans of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, and Robert Ludlum's Jason Bourne will be glued to the lines of the Blake Brier Thriller series.

Another great book

Overall the book was very well written. The end seemed almost rushed but was still good and unexpected. Of course, Scott Brick gave an exceptional performance as usual.

Quick Read

I found this book to be tighter and better written than the first two books. The first 75% of the book was hard to put down. Then a couple of chapters serving no purpose (like chapter 28) were inserted slowing down the whole story. There were places where I was sure I had figured everything out but then a few chapters had some misdirection and I questioned myself. In the end I was right. There was one unexpected development at the very end that was shocking and gruesome. I don't want to include any spoilers, so I won't say anything more. There was also one illogical thing after Zoe went upstairs.

Not sure why the editors didn't catch the date mistake on Chapter 12. Chapter 11 was Sunday, May 30th; Chapter 12 was listed as Monday, June 1st but it couldn't have been Monday since that would have been May 31st.

I was on the fence about reading the whole series, but this book will definitely keep me invested in the series. Hope the next one is as good.

As for narration, Brick read overly dramatic in places that didn't require it. His volume was inconsistent and too loud when there was not action. Not his best performance. Great voice; he just needs to take it down one notch.

Worst L.T. Ryan book so far

This book was not very exciting. The main character was useless the entire book and accidentally solved the case. So dumb. I thought this series was going places! Uncharted was a dud. Too bad.
