Overall good story average narration

Won't be everyone's cup of tea but the story is great if you aren't stuck I'm the protagonist complex, the world is built much better than average.

Many commented on the narration, the range in characters is indeed good and instantly recognizable, the narration itself wasn't the poor part, it was good to average but the sound quality/mastering was quite below expected.

I would still recommend it.

Very hard to follow at first

So I went in very excited to hear this book considering it was about D&D fantasy and undead, two of my favorite subjects. Now I will tell you for the first few hours I had no idea what was going on, who the antagonists and protagonists were and what direction the book was going. I'm not sure if this is due to the narrator or the actual storyline.
Towards the end of the book I did feel like I had a grasp on things and it did become much more interesting. I only gave it a 3 just due to the slow confusing listen and not knowing if that was due to the speaker, author or driving and not having it capture my imagination. Starting book 2 now

Good book

What did you love best about Unclean?

Well written, good characters, good plot

What other book might you compare Unclean to and why?

Well written, good characters, good plot. Good job taking individual adventure and weaving it into a larger grand scale plot line

Have you listened to any of Kevin Kraft’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but he did a great job

OMG! great story!

I have always enjoyed story's that relate undead as normal everyday people with the same problems, this story took it to a higher level.

Terrible narration

One of the worst narrations I’ve ever listened to. His voices were comical! Nothing good to say about the reading. The book might be good; I can’t tell. The reader ruined it.

Sloppy Story and Flat Narrator

Would you try another book from Richard Lee Byers and/or Kevin Kraft?

Oddly, I have listened to Richard Lee Byers' Brotherhood of the Griffon and those books have a better theme, political intrigue and characters (although Aoth is shared).Kevin Kraft was just not very good. He uses a good variety of voice for each character... but it's just not good. There is a lisp (intentional or not) that is pretty bad. Voices sound pretty flat and uninspiring.

Would you ever listen to anything by Richard Lee Byers again?

I recommend the Brotherhood of the Griffon series. The stories and characters are more enjoyable.

What didn’t you like about Kevin Kraft’s performance?

Nothing. He has good range in characters but they sound horrible.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Unclean?

Scenes are fine but I why does the reader care? We were never given enough to care about the story or the characters... and I am a huge realms fan. Szazz stuff was interesting but too little.

Any additional comments?

The story is immediately split into three intertwined stories that are suppose to come together by the end. A good example of this is Elaine Cunningham (which she does very nicely). For some reason I felt like this was disjointed and never really made sense (like, why am I still listening, I don't care what happens in the story).
