A short story that's complete and satisfying

Not only was this the love story of Tracey and Jackson, it was also a tribute to people now dead that significantly impacted both their lives.

The melancholy Tracey meets Jackson soon after her grandmother has passed away. While it's a case of instant attraction, we get to see them building a relationship and working towards their HEA over a longer period of time.

I was pleasantly surprised at how complete this story was given its short length. The story is tight and well paced and includes a cast of secondary characters that enhance, rather than detract the story.

Ann Bumbak accurately portrays the emotions of the characters. A couple of times, I felt the narration to drag but speeding it up made the book sound strange.

Finding Love Under the Sun

Jude Ouvrard did an excellent job with this short story, I enjoyed listening to every minute of Tracy and Jackson's Prelude to happiness.

Jackson is like every woman's first date and husband all in one, he can cook and knows how to satisfy every palette. He's a wiz in the kitchen.

Under the Sun is a story about two people learning to move on from Lost and find happiness where least expected.

Two Souls Seeking Love

What did you love best about Under the Sun?

The friendship and eventual love that developed between Jackson and Tracey

Which scene was your favorite?

The first time Tracey and Jackson were intimate

Any additional comments?

The characters were well developed and it was a sweet, touching tale of two people whose happiness was long overdue. Jackson put his life on hold after the death of his fiance and their baby. Tracey put her happiness on the back burner to care for her dying grandmother. It just goes to show that good things happen to good people.....

ONE CLICHÉ AFTER ANOTHER

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

First, my normal apology because it's very difficult to execute a good story that reads in under 2 hours. Now, all I can say about "Under The Sun" is that, IMHO, it's stale and cliché-ridden. Although well written, the dialogs and situations are unoriginal. I'd like to continue to review Ouvrard's work and discover that her books are normally better.

Ann Bumbak's narration was somewhat uncomfortable. There were tiny pauses after some words that interrupted the sentence's flow. As far as her voice quality, it was feminine, soft and melodic. Her inflections were good, too. I couldn't get over the wee little apneas...

Hands deep in my pockets...

Short novella..

I am all for a happy ever after, but I want the story of how they got there. I want to see characters grow through the story. But since this is a very short novella so much story is cramped into this. So much that the story felt flat. There is potential in the storyline, but it has a long way to go. I just didn’t believe the story as it is.
Narration.. was okay but almost to sultry and slow.

Under the Sun

This is a nice short, sweet romance. Each of these two have had it rough in the past. One is recent and the other has had time to learn to recover. They work well together but they need to learn to live with the loss and move forward. The story was good but It just seemed quick or rushed at times.

I listened to this on audio. Ann Bumbak was the narrator. She did a nice job.

Quick sweet story

Tracey arrives at her grandmother's cabin in Wells Beach, needing some recovery time after extended care and subsequent death of her grandmother. She runs into her neighbor, Jackson, on the first day. Jackson remembers Tracey from years earlier when she was at the cabin with her gmom...he extends friendship and things take off from there. Jackson had his own experience with grief and helps Tracey to explore and heal. There is an HEA.

emotions

A sweet story of loss and regrouping to move forward and fall on love. I liked thst both main characters knew liss and seemed ready for what was next for them. Nicely done. The narrator's voice was pleasant and fit the storyline well and I enjoyed it. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

Short and Sweet!

Novellas a tricky, always want to make sure the plot and characters are well developed. Jude Ouvrard has given us both with this short romance. There is a lot packed into this story, I could relate to the Alzheimer's grandmother and taking care of her. The portrayal of this is very realistic with the emotional journey it takes you on. Tracey is now at the beach, giving herself time after her grandmother dies, when her next door neighbor Jackson comes into her life. Their story of how they come together and heal each other is warm and affectionate. I love these two, Jackson has a way that makes you feel his love and Tracey has so much to give and is willing to move her life forward. Together they are sweet and loving. I especially loved the tie the two found with Tracey's grandmother and her muffins..who knew muffins could bring love?

Ann Bumbak gives a wonderful portrayal of this story. She is perfect for a short romance with the warmth in her voice that gives you that heartfelt feeling.
