Shae Shanahan has no idea how to sew a button or steam a shirt. How he ends up as the assistant to the famous wardrobe stylist Rowan Abernathy is beyond him. But his need for stable employment in an expensive city is as dire as Rowan's need for an assistant to actually stick around. Or maybe an assistant he can order around and mold to his ridiculous standards. So much so that Shae has threatened to quit dozens of times—at least in his head.
Rowan's love life is as much a disaster as his desk. He needs Shae to organize his schedule but keeps him at arm's length regarding anything personal. When the cracks begin to show and Shae sees the vulnerable man beneath the arrogant, sarcastic exterior, it makes him curious to know more.
When a fake kiss leads to even hotter encounters, they have trouble keeping their relationship strictly professional. Shae sees just how gentle the man can be and feels cared for when it's only the two of them. But Rowan's defenses are hard to break, and he makes his boundaries more than clear. When Shae finally has enough and needs to protect his own heart—and his sanity—will Rowan finally see what's been right in front of him all along?
Contains mature themes.

GOOD LISTEN !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved getting to know the characters as the book went on. Such a beautiful romance. Definitely worth a credit to listen!!!
Slow burn couldn’t stop listening!

It feels undeveloped. Saying it is a "slow burn" would imply that it actually caught fire ... it does not The lack of 🔥doesn't have anything at all to do with the NSFW scenes. It's the lack of connection between the protagonist and the object of his affection. I truly was shocked when the love realization hit because I didn't see it, feel it or read it. I even downloaded the book to see if I missed something , may be the audiobook was missing a chapter or something? Nope .
I do not believe that any book has to have any set number or even "type" of spicy content to be of value, but it needs more than this story to be great. Honestly, it doesn't even feel like a Christina Lee book to me .
it's not bad and it's not great.
The narrator is FANTASTIC !!
Not the Best

I didn’t really feel any chemistry between the MMC’s… the banter was cute but i didn’t feel a slow burn, more like a friendly teasing working relationship then they kiss and it changes 🤷🏻♀️. Barely any smut, maybe 2 quick scenes the whole book and then one random intricate and long sex scene at the end… it’s only one POV so it was difficult to understand Ro’s side. To me he was just sooo closed off, then just expected Shae to stick around and deal with it. Side characters were cute but could have played a bigger role in the story. Like Kendall would always be around but just basically gave advice and was a prop for the rest. Then the random departure of her assistant?? I’ll try not to give too much away,
I guess it’s an okay fluffy listen but I wouldn’t waste a credit.
Overall okay
