Story
These are the stories that defy conventional logic. The proverbial vanished without a trace incidences, which happen a lot more (and a lot closer to your backyard) than almost anyone thinks. These are the missing whose situations are the hardest on loved ones left behind. The cases that are an embarrassment for park superintendents, rangers, and law enforcement charged with Search & Rescue.

Story
Flyers, Facebook posts, television and radio notice – everyday, we see these things being used as the medium to announce that someone is missing. These notices are short lived, often intriguing us for a few minutes before they are erased from our minds completely until the same victim is found – either dead or safely alive. The same is not true for the family. They lay awake, night after night, thinking about their lost loved ones. They spend time, money, and energy going places: from police station to possible witnesses.

Story
How far would you go to find a missing loved one? Would you send out flyers, appear on TV shows, or ask some of your connections to assist you? Let's change the question: What would you want your loved ones to do in case it was you who went missing? Would you encourage them to fight and find you at all costs? In this book we'll tackle seven cases - each different in nature and response, but all ending in one direction: the missing person could not be found....

People disappear every single day, but there are a few cases that simply defy explanation. There are those who have walked into forests and never come out. There are people who have disappeared from secure compounds with no explanation, and even individuals who seem to have vanished into thin air right in front of security cameras.

Story
Eight true crime stories of murder and mayhem. In my first audiobook as a true crime author I've started with a few of the stories that have haunted me for some time. Some of these stories are unbelievable in their brutality while others are astounding in the stupidity of the killers. This collection of stories are from all around the globe and have no common thread between them other than that they are both thought provoking and disturbing. The stories included in this anthology are dark and creepy and will leave you with a new understanding of just how fragile the human mind can be.

Story
I order another bourbon, neat. This is the drink that will flip the switch. I don’t even know how I got here, to this place, to this point. Something is happening to me lately. I’m drinking too much. My sheets are soaking wet when I wake up from nightmares of decaying corpses. I order another drink and swig it, trying to forget about the latest case I can’t shake. Crime solving for me is more complex than the challenge of the hunt, or the process of piecing together a scientific puzzle. The thought of good people suffering drives me to the point of obsession.

Story
In February 1959, a group of nine experienced hikers in the Russian Ural Mountains died mysteriously on an elevation known as Dead Mountain. Eerie aspects of the incident—unexplained violent injuries, signs that they cut open and fled the tent without proper clothing or shoes, a strange final photograph taken by one of the hikers, and elevated levels of radiation found on some of their clothes—have led to decades of speculation over what really happened.

Story
In this work on a subject too often dismissed as paranormal or disreputable, Jeffrey Meldrum gives us the first book on Sasquatch to be written by a scientist with impeccable academic credentials. He gives an objective look at the facts in a field mined with hoaxes and sensationalism. Meldrum reports on the work of a team of experts from a wide variety of fields who were assembled to examine the evidence for a large, yet undiscovered, North American primate. He reviews the long history of this mystery and explains all the scientific pros and cons in a clear and accessible style.

Publisher's summary
Bizarre missing people stories that baffled the authorities....
At a distance, a farmer and a policeman saw lightning strike the rocks of the Stonehenge of Salisbury; at the same time, they heard the terrifying screams of several people. When they checked, no one was there.
When Bobby Jamison's phone was inspected, a picture of his six-year-old daughter was seen: she had her arms folded, as if not wanting to be touched, her face was scrunched up, and she wasn't looking at the camera. Could the photographer be the Jamison family's abductor?
Captain Benjamin Briggs sailed together with his wife and daughter when they vanished on the Mary Celeste; could he have led his family and crew elsewhere because he sensed some sort of danger?
Richard Colvin Cox, then a cadet at West Point when vanished, had two unidentified visitors. He also shouted a very inexplicable statement one time when he was startled awake. Are these things connected to his disappearance?
Does the Bennington Triangle "eat" people? It seemed so...based on the way people disappeared in the area....

Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Story
Mystics and sages have long maintained that there exists an interconnecting cosmic field at the roots of reality that conserves and conveys information, a field known as the Akashic record. Recent discoveries in vacuum physics show that this Akashic field is real and has its equivalent in science's zero-point field that underlies space itself. This field consists of a subtle sea of fluctuating energies from which all things arise: atoms and galaxies, stars and planets, living beings, and even consciousness.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Story
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Interesting
Kept my attention. Run time is short - less than 2 hours, but I enjoyed it. It had me Googling some of the names to find out more about these missing people. Narrator is excellent.

aside from the poor audio quality and the almost robotic narration, the stories of word portrayed we're true but boring an have been speculated to death I was just looking for a little more sustenance for almost the $8 I paid for this boring crap
