About this listen

The world will ignite and so will I.

The Forsaken hunger for vengeance, leaving Steel and me with no choice but to follow Camiel to the only place strong enough to protect me - Eden, an ancient, hidden city darkened by my family’s secrets. But Eden isn’t the safe haven I expected, and family runs deeper than blood. As Thorne grows stronger by the day, his Fallen forces threaten to raze London - and then the world - to cinders. In order to stop him, the entire angelic community has to unite, but ancient feuds and millennia of prejudice put everything at risk.

My heart knows where I belong - fighting beside my loved ones - but I have a secret that could doom them all. There’s a dark power growing inside me, hellish and spiraling beyond my control. The realms have merged. The darkness calls to me. And there's only one thing standing in my way...Steel.

Another rollercoaster!

This book was really exciting! There were tons of twists and turns that kept me guessing. I really enjoyed it and the roller coaster it created for me. Occasionally I’d get confused on which tire of being wad what, so another explanation would have been helpful. Overall, so enjoyable!

Epic conclusion to an AMAZING story!

I am so sad this series is over! But am also ready to listen to it again.

I was sucked in to the story from the very beginning to the very end. I seriously couldn't stop listening to these books.

This book was an amazing conclusion to the story, I'm so sad it's over and would easily listen to anything else from this author!

An excellent ending to a great trilogy

The narration of this book is excellent, Vanessa Moyen and Adam Gold are just perfection, and take an already amazing book and put it on a whole other level.

This series has gotten better and better with each book. In book three of the trilogy, we are full force into the story, and there is tons of action, great character development, and all the answers we’ve been waiting for! As always, Emberly’s snark is on point, Tinkle is the bomb, and Steel is as swoony as ever. The secondary characters continue to shine, and we are even left with some excellent possibilities for spin off series that would make an excellent continuation of this world that was so well built. But we don’t get to the end without some heartbreak and brutality, Julie definitely makes us work for our HEA.

Since this is book three of a trilogy, I’m not going to go into any detail, just to say that the story progression is fast paced and gets you where you want to go, with just the right amount of breathing time when you need it. The themes of the series remain strong, especially that of found family, and the relationship between Emberly and Steel moves at exactly the right pace for the book. I very much enjoyed this series, and look forward to anything else she will write in this world, as my love for the secondary characters and their potential just grew and grew, especially in this book. All in all, an excellent ending to the trilogy.

Great Conclusion!

I really enjoyed the conclusion. It had it all suspense, action you name it. I sometimes wanted to shout at the characters and be like why would you do that haven't you learned by now? Regardless I still loved all the characters and am sad that the series is over. I again loved the narration. Vanessa and Adam did a fantastic job.

The wild ride continues in book 2

It is not often I read/listen to a sequel that equals the 1st one but this one might even be a little bit better! Narration for this story was awesome!

We start out where the 1st book left us with Steel off looking for Silver, and of course all the friend group have to come up with some hair brained scheme to catch her, without thinking it all through. Because Silver lays a trap for them that they fall right into and Ember is nabbed and separated from them.

When Ember wakes she is in the spirit realm and Silver, with her not so nice little taser incentivizer, is running the show for now. Ouch! Ember is taken to a coliseum to view gladiator style games where several fallen are battling 1 nephilim? Ember acts on the urge to help the guy out, but finds that the guy is actually their leader, Thorne, and he wants to turn her away from the Angel born. YIKES!

Meanwhile Steel and Co. have shared a dreamscape with Ember. Steel, along with Tinkle the flying squirrel/guardian angel/sparky are on the mad hunt through the spirit realm to find her. Ember, while captive decides to take whatever intel she can and accepts training.

One evening Silver brings dinner and her personal brand of snarky, but doesn’t lock the door on her way out. Ember decides it’s her chance to escape but runs into some humans that she can’t leave behind. Enter Mommy Dearest. Who turns out to be pretty awful. And escape is off the table, ugh!

Ember is in a huge world of hurt when she wakes behind bars! OH NO! It’s gonna take some fancy maneuvering to get outta this big ole mess, that’s for sure! And these are just a few little tidbits/ spoilers for you! The great stuff is ahead for you to listen to and it is fantastic! This story is full of energy, romance, male arrogance, fighting, humor, snark, and excitement! Don’t miss it! I am on my way on to book 3!!!!!!

Jaysus!!

This book was intense!! The conclusion to the trilogy literally left me with a good hangover.
I was hooked from the beginning and the multiple POVs kept me intrigued and glued to my ebook. It has great pacing and tons of fighting scenes, I absolutely LOVED it!!
The worlds that the author created including the spirit realm all seemed very realistic and easy to picture in my head. Tons of intense scenes. The narrators, Vanessa and Adam are amazing!! Their performance elevated the book. They brought the story alive, and it was like watching a movie. I absolutely loved and they are quite talented. I highly recommend the audiobook.

Sweet ending

This is the third and final book of the trilogy. I really enjoyed the book and hope it’s not the end for all these characters. I love a bad boy redemption arc and am hoping we’ll see more from Nova and Thorn.
For Emberly and Steel though, I loved this ending. They got their happy ending and enough is left to explore that we might see them again. It was a great listen and kept me engaged and invested.
I did receive a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review but all my opinions are my own.

Have mercy, the narration!!!!!!!

This trilogy is interesting and the story is captivating. The characters are overall endearing when they have to be, infuriating when they have to be and the story flows nicely. But the narration... Oh My Goodness!

The female narrator sounds like a petulant, nose in the air debutante and the guy was borrowed somewhere from a 1940's self narrating noir movie. To her credit, the girl is a thousand times better than he is, since she at least attempts to sound like different characters. He just drones on, like Don LaFontaine on Valium. I had to stop sometimes and go read my Kindle book, they were THAT annoying! I almost just gave up on listening to the story.

Other than that, great books. great plot, great everything, but the narrators.
