About this listen

Have you ever been so angry that hitting things felt good? Or numb to all emotions? The past few years have been like that for me. Traveling between fury and indifference with no stops in between. Some people hate me for it, while others are scared of me. But none of them can hurt me, because I don't care about anything or anyone. Except Tatum. I love her so much that I hate her. I hate that I can't let her go. We used to be friends, but I found out that I couldn't trust her - or anyone else. So I hurt her. I pushed her away. But I still need her. She centers me. Engaging her, challenging her, pushing her - it's the one last part of me that feels anything anymore. But then she went and screwed everything up. She left for a year and came back a different girl. Now, when I push, she pushes back...and I'm not sure either one of us will ever be the same.

Like it a lot, the narrator suited Jared's character but would like to hear more of Jareds story,

Who knew Jared’s POV could change everything for me

I didn’t know I needed Jared’s POV until I read this book. His POV truly puts together EVERYTHING from book 1 and helps you realize why he did what he did even if it was t right. Love love love Jared and Tate together!

I loved Jared’s pov

I don’t know why I enjoy the male point of view more in books. But this was so good. It really put his feelings into perspective.

Bully part 2

This is the best retelling experience I’ve ever had. It was a completely new story. The author did a great job with all the new memories and experiences.

Love Jared and Tate!

This a great series! I've become invested in all the characters and anxious to see the various story lines to the end. The narrators are perfect for this story and they made me want to continue through the other books. A SEXY MUST READ!

Until You

What did you love best about Until You?

I really liked being able to get things from Jared's POV. I also liked that this wasn't a complete retelling of Bully. There were a lot of great added scenes.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Until You?

When Jared stayed with Tate's Dad.

What does Nelson Hobbs bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hobbs brought more passion to the story I think.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a lot of the same reactions I had while reading Bully. There was a scene that still managed to piss me off even though I knew the outcome already.

More invested than before

I was already really invested in the characters While I read Bully. But with this sequel, I fell even more in love after this one. Jared is such a beautifully broken character. He's hurting and he's also in love with Tate; which makes him feel vulnerable. As a result he bullies her because he does not know how to handle his emotions and cope with trauma. I felt so angry with him but I liked being able to get to know this character.

If I could change anything, I would make this one and Bully into one book with Dual perspectives. At time it became really repetitive. However, there's more events in this story, ended after the first in the series. Jared realizes the consequences of his actions and make this right.

I liked Nelson Hobbs. He really captured Jared's obsession with Tate.

You won't be disappointed

After being introduced to Bully, I wasn't to sure about this story, but like so many others I wanted to know the other side of the same coin. To say that Penelope didn't disappoint is an understatement. She's right about the fact that this is the other side of the Bully story and is best if read after the fact, but this story is also a stand alone, and a great one at that. I love the minor details that this author adds to her story lines to set the stage. Not only has she introduced me to some great stories and entertainment, but also a list of really great artists and songs... and really, what's not to love about that! I also am loving the narrator in this one. I've never had the pleasure of hearing anything read by Nelson, but I look forward to hunting down more stories lines so he can fill my ears with pleasure. There truly is nothing like a good story teller and neither Penelope or Nelson has disappointed!

Good to have more of Tate and Jared

First off, I listened to the audio for Until You and the narrator did a great job. I'd recommend it.

I liked getting Jared's side when he realized that he really loved Tate, and I do really enjoy how much Jared and Tate feel for each other. I actually read Aflame before this one because I was stressing about what Pen Doug did to Jared and Tate, so I wanted to get that one out of the way. It was nice reading this and remembering Tate and Jared's journey. After reading this, it made me more flabbergasted that Jared would be so inconsiderate towards Tate in Aflame. Until You showed how important Tate was/is to Jared, so it didn't align with his actions in Aflame. Sorry, enough about Aflame.

So, I almost went with 3 stars because really Until You just makes Jared seem more like a jerk. He really thought he hated Tate, and thought very badly towards her. He was vindictive and harmful for no good reason towards her. When reading Bully, I didn't imagine his thoughts to be so horrible towards her in the beginning. So, I was disappointed in that. I wanted him to know he loved her; I think deep down he did, but he was blind to what he was feeling and it turned into stupid, immature actions.

I also didn't need to read about how many girls he banged. At least there wasn't major detail, but still...eww! Plus, he pretty much thinks every girl is hot. Being in his thoughts during those times wasn't really great. The story is pretty much the same, but we get more details about what happened with his dad, other girls, and KC. The story also goes a bit after the ending of Bully, which I liked what Jared did at the end, so I enjoyed that addition. This is a bit of a spoiler, so warning! Jared gives his abusive, jailed father money to not call his younger brother. Why not just not answer when he calls? Or heck, how about changing the number? Both super easy to do. I thought that whole scenario was stupid. I already mentioned I hated any of the talk about Jared's manwhore ways. Knowing more about the KC scenario also didn't change my opinion about her; it actually worsened it. I'm not looking forward to her book. I'll read it still; I'm hoping she'll grow on me if I know more about her. She's a horrible friend to Tate. They are definitely not bffs, KC keeps tons of secrets. They are friends on the surface only. I do feel better towards Madoc after reading this. I read Madoc's book already, and started to like him a bit more after reading it. Until You showed a bit more insight into his intentions, and how he's really a bit of matchmaker. When I read Bully, I did not like him and thought he was disgusting, so it was good to see him in a different light.

Overall, I really enjoy getting more of Tate and Jared. Their relationship does have some really sweet moments, so I loved seeing them grow closer from a different viewpoint.
