About this listen

Homicide detective Frank Quinn can't stay retired when a new breed of murdering madman is on the prowl. In a city terrorized by bloody brutality, Quinn and his team hunt a psychopath who lures beautiful women into a night of unbridled passion, then wakes them to a vicious, drawn-out death. Stumbling over a trail of horribly defiled bodies, Quinn can't seem to catch up to the killer - because the killer is about to catch up to him.©2009 John Lutz (P)2009 Random House Crime Thrillers Genre Fiction Mystery Police Procedurals Psychological Suspense Thriller & Suspense

This book is exactly like the first book. Or maybe it originally was one book and Audible decided to split it into two???? Very very disappointed.

Disappointed

Urge to Kill is just more great suspenseful writing by Mr. Lutz. I really enjoy his books and this is just as good as Night Kills and In For The Kill. I love going to bed and putting on a Lutz book on my Ipod. He's the best.

Awesome, of course!!!

Lutz did an exemplary job of weaving a story with multiple plots into a cohesive package. Readers/listeners are given enough clues along the way to piece together what is happening, although the final twist strained credibility. I am a fan of Scott Brick but felt the highs and lows of his narration in this book presented somewhat of a challenge. I generally listen to audio books in the car and his "whisper" deliveries caused scores of "rewinds" for me. Not every reader will enjoy the comic relief provided by Pearl and her mole, but I think it worked. The four stars I gave this book were closer to three than to five but I would recommend the listen to those who enjoy this genre.

Good job at connecting plots

Oh my, this killer is really psycho.... Again!

Another sick psycho killer. Dang where does John Lutz think of these things???

I do love these book. I am really enjoying the character developments with these characters Quinn, Feds and Pearl. And that ME Nift is such disgusting little jerk, and boy does Pearl hate him. LOL love it!

The narration is great, I love Scott Brick so much! He is the best!

Great book and narration!

Scott Brick is still the best narrator. And Quinn and Pearl never stop being on the job. There is a nice twist to this one.

loved it

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

No one.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Another Frank Quinn book

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

I like Scott Brick. It was the book. Too many storylines going on.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No

Any additional comments?

286 minutes into the book I was still confused on the different characters. The only characters after that 4+ hours that I could distinguish were Quinn, Federman, and Pearl. Have loved all the Frank Quinn books. This one, couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Too Many Storylines
