About this listen

Charlotte McKay doesn't know what to expect when she moves in to take care of her elderly aunt.

When Charlotte discovers a dead body her first day in the cozy town of Sweetwater Falls, she worries she may have made the wrong choice, moving from the big city to a small town. She was hoping for a family feel and a fresh start, not a shakedown from local law enforcement and an aunt who keeps disappearing right when danger nears.

Sweetwater Falls is filled with loveable characters harboring dark secrets. Even though Charlotte is certain none of her new neighbors could possibly be the killer, she is beginning to learn that no one is above suspicion.

Join Charlotte as she moves to Sweetwater Falls, only to discover that not even the sweetest of small towns are without their shadows.

Vanilla Vengeance is filled with layered clues and cozy moments, written by Molly Maple, which is a pen name for a USA Today best-selling author.

I found Charlotte's story interesting as she tried to find her place in a new town. Sent there under false pretences she soon finds a new calling. and friends.

Sweet and Clean murder mystery

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

The story was a typical cozy mystery but the narration of Aunt Winnie was HORRIBLE! High pitched lilting almost whiny voice - even for a supposedly 91 year old. Plenty of little old lay voices you could have chosen… why this one? I had to turn it off. Waste of an Audible credit.

Horrible Narration

If you would prefer someone who can pronounce words like subterfuge and cardamom, this is not the book for you. The narrator trips over words constantly. It's really annoying.
She reads the second main character in an annoying, cloying, simpering voice.
The story is passable at best.
Move on to something better. You're worth it.

Kind of dumb, narrator can't pronounce words
