About the Creator - Scott McCormick

About the Creator

Scott McCormick: When he’s not flustering emus or stymying mambas, Scott McCormick enjoys annoying his children until they tell their mother. He also writes. He writes all kinds of stuff. Some of it is good. He wrote the Mr. Pants series of graphic novels. Those were good. You should totally check them out. So are the books he writes for Audible, including Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World, and its sequel, Rivals 2. He’s also excited about his first novel, The Dragon Squisher, which is just as funny and squishy as it sounds. Scott lives on the western edge of the easternmost part of southern North Carolina, right smack in the middle of it all.

Berserk abound.

As usual Scott makes history fun. I felt for the guy trying to type up on the rock stone; been there, done that. While these stories are based on true stories it told like a Monty Python movie ‘it’s only a flesh wound’. I wonder if the Red Funeral inspired GOT’s Red Wedding, it was very similar. Productions is great, very easy to listen to. In the How to Train your Dragon series they always have meetings called The Thing, which always cracked me up. Now I know it was based with real Viking history.

Funny and well written story

I truly enjoyed the way the story was knit together including women (who are often forgotten) and influences from of other cultures. I chuckled often.

Taught Us a lot about human nature with humor

The book was insightful, funny, and entertaining . I found myself actually telling people about it and recommending it before I was done with it. I chose it for both my11 yr old son and I to listen to in the car together. We both enjoyed it. Although, me more so.

Perhaps the best in the series!

Recognized Ray Porter's smooth voice immediately, and he's an excellent choice for this series. The humor, songs, and of course the HISTORY laced throughout this audiobook are just fantastic. I hope these keep coming, because I am thoroughly enjoying listening to them. I'd have given anything to have had history lessons delivered this way in grade school!

Brisk Pace Lots of Info

I really liked how fast paced and how much information was included in the audiobook. All these Rivals-type series books are fast paced, but unlike most of those, this one isn't so political, which is a nice bonus.
