About this listen

The secretary of state has been kidnapped by Islamic extremists and his only hope for survival is a reconstituted Presidential Agent team in this revival of W. E. B. Griffin's New York Times best-selling series.

Secretary of State Frank Malone has been kidnapped from his Cairo hotel - his security detail wiped out. President Natalie Cohen is left with several unacceptable options. It's time to think outside the box, and that can only mean one thing: the revival of the Presidential Agent program.

Cohen calls for Charley Castillo to come out of retirement to direct a new Presidential Agent, one Captain P. K. "Pick" McCoy, USMC. Charley may be too old to kick down doors and take names, but Killer McCoy is just the man to get the job done.

Together, they will track the kidnapped secretary from Cairo to sub-Saharan Africa. The only problem is that one man can't hope to win against an army of terrorists...good thing there are two of them.

Enjoyable

Did great justice to W.E.B. Griffin. I'm glad my favorite characters have more opportunity to have their stories continued.

Missed Sweaty and Max

I wished they had at least thought of Sweaty and Max. Charley’s best friend and lover of his life

they what happened?!?!

Where is Castillo's Merry Outlaws. I figured the marine Bradley would be along for the ride. Also Sweaty and the kids should have been mentioned.

Love Andrews and Williams!

Great story. I don’t know the history of the W.E.B series but the story is great.
Now, as for the narrator, he is LAME! I realize not every one is as good as Ray Porter, but this guy doesn’t even differentiate the characters. How he got this gig is beyond me.

Andrews, Wilson, and Brick good as ever

I have never read or listened to the presidential agent series but enjoy all of Andrews and Wilson’s series. I’d listen to more PA books but Dick Hills voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me. I’ll read them in time.

Where’s Svety?

Overall this is a good continuation of the series. If you are an avid listener to all of W.E.B. Griffin’s series, as I am, the adding of “Killer” McCoy’s (from The Corps series) grandson is a great touch and melding of two amazing series of books. I feel like the new writers did a good job with a few exceptions. Where’s Charlie’s family? There is no real background given on Charlie. No mention of Svety and their child? No mention of Fernando or Alexander Pezner? Can you imagine how he could have added to this story? Very minimal mention of Doná Alicia and she didn’t seem to be “in character” compared to the rest of the series. Same can be said of President Cohen. Her character in this book just doesn’t mesh with her character in the other books. I thought she liked Charlie? This book makes it seem like they’re at odds. The time line between the original series and this book doesn’t seem to match either. Would have liked at least a little bit of filler between the original series and this book. The only mention of “The Merry Outlaws” that I noticed was the mention of Charlie attending several of his friends funerals. I know I seem like I’m beating the book up but I’m not trying too. It’s a good book, I just wish there was more tie in and background to the original series. Can’t wait for the next installment and to see the development of “Killer” into Charlie’s old job, Hopefully with Charlie kind of turning into a General McNabb type roll for him.

Disappointed

I enjoyed the new characters and storyline, but no Svetlana? No background on Charlie at all
