About this listen

Former hockey star Declan Dash loves to play the game, and the one with his friend's little sister, Violet Spears? He plans to win . . .

Running into your brother's billionaire ex-hockey-playing best friend at a special kind of party should have been a red flag. Pulling one another's names from a bowl at said party was a coincidence. Having a wild night together that we said we'd forget was probably our mistake. Especially when Declan shows up weeks later as the new owner of the hockey team that practices in Lake Spark, and he has an offer for me.

Meet him every day in his hotel room for a week to enjoy a little fling while he passes through town.

Yep, I stupidly agree. But the man has a few talents, and I need to take a lunch break from my flower shop anyway. Except, our timeline gets extended and the game Declan plays doesn't come with a rule book. The lines between us get blurry. My brother will go through the roof if he ever finds out that his friend laid a finger on me, but it's my heart that feels fragile because I can't figure out if we have a future or if I'm just a big game where he's been waiting to score . . .

Contains mature themes.

Great start to the series with great narration

Waiting to Score is retired hockey player now team owner Declan and Lake Spark’s local florist Violet’s wonderful journey. This is book one in the new Lake Spark Off Season Series and if this book is anything to go by Ms Lyon’s will certainly have another hit series on her hands.
Violet should be off limits because she is the sister of Declan’s best friend but when these two met they had no idea she was the sister of his best friend and that’s when their attraction and scorching hot chemistry began. If her brother ever finds out how they met, life will be very different for both of them because he believes his younger sister is still sweet and innocent who shouldn’t be mixing with players…..
Samantha Summers and Erik Bloomquist did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the humour and the love and a pleasure to listen too.
We all know we can’t always stop our hearts wanting what they want and it’s not long before these friends or at times enemies with benefits find themselves wanting more but how will the family react……
I loved everything about this book, I fell hard and fast for Declan, Violet is the gal I would love in my corner, the chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty and there are plenty of laugh out loud moments normally at the expense of Violet’s very funny teenage nephew Connor. This is a book with all the feels but what takes it to another level is small town living and a very funny teenager but let’s not forget this is a well written book that captivated me from start to finish.
