wish that they had a different narrator who put more emotion in their work.

good book, not a good narrator

The book is good for a middle school level fantasy novel. But the narrator's performance makes it tough to enjoy. Over pronounciation, mis-pronounced names, no emotion, slow. Not much Waterdeep content in the story BTW

Great series

I read this about 20 years ago and loved it then. The audio version brought it to life!

Nicole is so bad. why did she get this gig?

the story is freaking amazing for the first 3 books, but how do you get a job to read a book and not even freaking make the effort to learn how to pronounce basic things. every time she mispronounced Bhaal made me want to stop listening. she is awful in the entire series. this would be one of the best audio book series in FR if victor bevine narrated it.

Horrible pronunciation

The amount of mispronounced words and names of the Gods is nerve racking. I almost gave up on listening and read the books instead.

Needs an update with a new narrator

Great story, a little annoying when the narrator can’t pronounce names properly and there is no emotion just a monotone reading but what do you expect when you get Siri to read an audio book!

Mis-named but a good read

I was looking for a book that dove into the the color and grit of Waterdeep. However, this book had very little to do with the city of Waterdeep. Having said that, it was a good read about the struggle after the gods were banished. The beginning was a little choppy but stick with it, and the book soon finds its stride.

better than the first two

I'm guessing they needed to scale the scope down a bit. still remember the campaign where characters lived in this world.

We are finally here!

Ppffew!
It was a long journey, but we are finally here, "Waterdeep."
Both "Shadowdale" and "Tantras" were overall terrible books,
but with the switch-out of writers to Troy Denning, we finally
acquire the Times of Troubles-story we were hoping for!

Our narrator is still bad, but if one has gotten this far, one has
presumably gotten used to her and simply tries to get something
out of what she is reading, and with "Waterdeep" she has finally
something to read!

"Waterdeep" is a truly excellent tale with the stakes running
high and several factions fighting for the powers of the gods,
for different reasons, at all times.
The book does contain plenty of weaknesses, but they are
typically minor, and the book even attempts to deal with some
of the failings of the two first books.

"Waterdeep" is by no means a perfect book, but with what we
had to sit through to get here, I'd say that there is time for a
victory lap with simply being given a product of significant,
consistent quality.
