About this listen

Jasper Nelson and his two sisters have been seers since the day they were born. They see the past, present, and future, even when what they're seeing isn't all that pleasant.

Kezia Dovetree and her sort of brother, Zander, were orphaned by their goddess mothers shortly after their births. They endured years of foster care, from the best homes to the worst homes, with their mothers watching over them. They're on their own now, and trouble is still following them.

When Jasper's sister, Jasmine, has a vision of Kezia and Zander dying shortly after meeting them, she decides to take action. Due to an incident years before, the furies have set their sights on Zander and Kezia, and the Furies always kill their targets. In the middle of the chaos, Jasper and Kezia recognize a brokenness in each other. Neither one can fix the other, and Kezia isn't even sure she wants to try. With the Furies closing in and the all too human seers in danger, the demigods might be the only things between the Furies and complete carnage.

Overall this is a good story, however I did find it slow & tedious at times. The self doubt and lack of self esteem in the characters is a tad suffocating at times. I understand why they are this way but I would like to see more positive growth. The interaction with the furies was very interesting and I would have liked more of that. I enjoyed the narrators pacing and she did a great job bringing the characters to life. I liked it enough that I will go on to book 2
