About this listen

Rian Thompson thought she joined the gym to get healthy. Little did she know she was about to add 190 pounds of swoonworthy abdominal muscles and arrogance to her life.

Every day in Rians's life follows a predictable pattern, and she wouldn't have it any other way. She's got a nice job, a nice place to live, and a nice family - even if they are a little wedding-zilla-ish at the moment.

She doesn't need anything spectacular to be happy. She just needs to get healthy - mentally, physically...and maybe spiritually if that happens. But she'll settle for two out of three until her sister finally gets hitched.

Carlos Davies thought his life was perfect. Little did he know it was about to be turned upside down by a woman who is not his type.

In Carlos' mind, his life is damn near perfect. He's got a great job, a great place to live, and a great stash of pickup lines that always work. It has occurred to him that maybe no one actually takes him all that seriously. But with these bulging biceps and thick, dark hair, does that even matter since he's never sleeping alone?

Welcome to Weight Expectations, where great - and unexpected - things happen.

Contains mature themes.

excitingly clean

sometimes i can't find a new listen/read that can illustrate attraction without getting gross. this book and i suspect the whole series creates excitement and attraction while maintaining a bit of privacy for the characters.
bravo.
thank you.

Weird choice for male narrator

I actually liked the story quite a bit, but it was hard to get past the male narrator’s voice. It was annoying, but bearable at first, since towards the beginning of the book Carlos was a total tool. When the Carlos’ words became more heartfelt and genuine though, the narrator sounded anything but. I couldn’t help rolling my eyes because the narrator sounded like such a douche canoe. It made me kind of sad that I didn’t read the book instead. Now if I read it, I probably won’t be able to hear Carlos with any other voice in my head.

Cute Story

I guess I’m too used to read erotica. The story was cute, but I would have loved to see how Carlos handled Rian behind closed doors. Otherwise, it was a sweet romantic story. The narration wasn’t my favorite, but it grew on me. The story meant more.

Very funny

This author is new to me. I enjoyed this book very much. I laughed a lot and really connected with the female main's point of view. Also I loved the female narrator and will look for more that she's done as well as more books written by this author.

I couldn't get past the male character

I ended up returning this book. The male character's voice was too annoying. Please rerecord!

Meh.. it was good listen & it didn't cost me a credit

Narration was not great, I personally was not a fan. I liked how the story covered all the aspects of health and the struggle to become/remain disciplined. I'm also glad the FMC wasn't in a constant state of self loathing/self hate but her internal monolog complaining about salad and working out was stereotypical and annoying. The MC was douchey and shallow but he was ok if you can ignore all that. I think if it was narrated differently I would of given it 4 stars.

Not bad for a quick listen

I'm glad this was in the plus catalog. It's a sweet okay story. The phrase "but she's not not type" on repeat for really old pretty quick. Decent character development. The wedding we're introduced to at the beginning of the book plays a pretty big part, along with the family dynamics, and it was disappointing that none of it was really addressed. That part of the plot just fell off and felt unnecessary for the book as a whole, almost like filter to make the word count.
