About this listen

When a crime-stopper senior citizen starts to act oddly, a new business sells fake products, and the New Year’s Eve fireworks display disappears, Mayor Cora Mae Bingham and the Spicetown Police Chief Conrad Harris have to get involved.

Cora keeps an eye on her quaint small town nestled in the Southern hills of Ohio. Although Spicetown is sprinkled with culinary street names, stores full of spices, and quaint lifelong citizens, out-of-towners can bring in a dicey element.

Enjoy!

small-town, friendship *****

Small town southern Ohio is a lot like small town anywhere but with more nice folks than some. Everybody knows everyone else and gossip is a given, but here there is very little that's malicious. This is a comfortable story about some interesting mysteries but no murder of people or their character, and the characters you get to know are the kind of people you'd want for friends.
The audio is narrated by Nicole KandeLind who is well suited to the task.

Very good

This was a very good cozy mystery. It has a great combination of suspense, mystery, and a little romance. The narrator does a wonderful job of voicing each character.

A lovely cozy about a fireworks heist!

If you’re looking for a mystery book that has all the fun characters & sleuthing, but without murder, then this is the book for you! It’s such an enjoyable cozy through & through with really lovably characters that I felt like I knew and cared about by the end. There is a lot of fun sleuthing to be had & as a cozy mystery lover I highly recommend it! I was gifted this book in exchange for my honest review

Fun Small Town Mystery

This was a fun and clean (no language, violence or sexual content) mystery over a theft in the small town of Spicetown. It's a bit slower then my normal mystery reads and calmer too as it is over a theft not a murder. I felt it was well written but maybe a tad too long. The narration was great and made it more enjoyable.

Ok cozy

Mayor Cora keeps an eye on her small spice-like town. Good friends with the chief of police they try to figure out who stole the county fireworks purchased for the New Year festivities. A new shop owner, convict, and local busy body senior citizen make up the suspects. The story and narration were fine but low key. Shhhh

I started laughing when I realized I was shhh-ing an audio book. The narrator drives me crazy when doing some of the dialog. Cora, the Mayor being the worst. I talk that load to get my hard of hearing husband to hear me. It's not necessary when reading a book. She's load. Others aren't so bad. Just Cora and June. Please use your indoor voice.

Pretty good

This is an ok cozy mystery. It doesn't have a quick pace but the plot is moves along at a steady pace slowly building into an interesting story.
