Publisher's summary

In Book Three of the Prairie Hearts series by USA Today best-selling author Caroline Fyffe, two broken hearts just might find a second chance at love.

When widower Charlie Rose shows up looking for work at the struggling Cotton Ranch, no one knows he’s secretly trying to outrun trouble - and he intends to keep it that way. He wants to start over fresh in the small town of Logan Meadows, where his blind daughter can grow up safe…and where danger can’t find him.

Feisty and independent, Nell Page is determined to protect the Cotton Ranch, despite threats from the bank…and the mysterious stranger lurking on the ranch’s borders. In spite of her better judgment, Nell instantly feels drawn to handsome, dependable Charlie. The more they ride together through the beautiful Wyoming mountains and plains, the more their feelings grow into a love that could be strong enough to last forever. But will Charlie’s past catch up with him and dash their hopes for a future together?

There was truth and excitement. The ending was different than I thought it was going to be. Ver good!

Nice story

This is a nice "happily ever after" story. Nothing earthshaking but an escape to another era to rest your mind from the awful news, world events, etc we are subjected to daily.

The narrator was mediocre. I am not a fan of women's voices trying to sound like men, but she did a fine job.

Better narrator

I read this a couple years ago and now decided to listen to it since the audio book is included with kindle unlimited. The story and characters are great. This author is very good. The narrator of the first book was OK I guess, and the guy who read the second was horrible. This time, a woman reads it. She is better. Her voice reminds me of Elizabeth Banks. So if you are debating listening to this after suffering through the horrible guy from the last one, don't hesitate. He's not back.

Loved it!

This was a wonderful story and it was brought to life by Kate. It gave me the chills when they were bringing the wild horses in. Caroline sure knows about ranch life as I know a few things about horses myself.

Ending sucked, but the telling was wonderful

I will be looking up any other books narrated by Kate Rudd. The first narrator I’ve come across who added true inflection in the right moments and phrases, and she read with so much passion. Each character’s voice was suited to them and pleasant to listen to. I rated the audible higher than the book itself, because despite the unfortunate ending of the book (it felt lazy, unrealistic, and unfinished), the narrator made the book far more enjoyable than anyone else could have.
