About this listen
Janie Johnson has been on an emotional roller-coaster ride ever since she saw her face on the side of a milk carton. At first she thought the people she called Mom and Dad had kidnapped her. Then she learned they were only trying to protect her. Finally, she had to get acquainted with another whole new family. Now Janie's two families have made peace. But just as her life returns to normal, her Connecticut father suffers a stroke. With her mother reeling from the tragedy, Janie steps in to help manage the family finances. As she sifts through a folder containing paid bills, she uncovers shocking information that threatens to destroy both her beloved families.
Award-winning novelist Caroline B. Cooney weaves a gripping tale of family secrets and forgiveness in this thrilling conclusion to the bestselling novels: The Face on the Milk Carton, Whatever Happened to Janie?, and The Voice on the Radio. Alyssa Bresnahan's dramatic performance draws listeners into the thoughts and hearts of the characters. Publishers Weekly reports Caroline B. Cooney "expresses multiple points of view with remarkable understanding."

Story
Charles Wang is mad at America. A brash, lovable immigrant businessman who built a cosmetics empire and made a fortune, he's just been ruined by the financial crisis. Now all Charles wants is to get his kids safely stowed away so that he can go to China and attempt to reclaim his family's ancestral lands - and his pride. Outrageously funny and full of charm, The Wangs vs. the World is an entirely fresh look at what it means to belong in America - and how going from glorious riches to (still name-brand) rags brings one family together in a way money never could.

Unintentionally campy
The Janie series books are going downhill, but somehow I’m still addicted. WHAT JANIE FOUND is at times unintentionally campy, funny when meant to be serious. Perhaps campiness is why I’m enjoying in addition to wonderful narration.
