Publisher's summary

Charming, hilarious, and emotional...When Sparks Fly is Helena Hunting at her very best!

Avery Spark is living her best life. Between her friends, her sisters, and Spark House, the event hotel her family owns, she doesn’t have much time for anything else, especially relationships. She’d rather hang out with her best friend and roommate, Declan McCormick, than deal with the dating scene. But everything changes when she is in a car accident and needs someone to care for her as she heals.

Declan avoids relationships, giving him a playboy reputation that he lives up to when he puts a one-night stand ahead of a promise he made to Avery. While he may not have been the one driving the car, he feels responsible for Avery’s injuries and is determined to make it up to her by stepping into the role of caretaker.

Little did they know that the more time they spend in compromising positions, the attraction they’ve been refusing to acknowledge becomes impossible to ignore. When they finally give in to the spark between them, neither is prepared for the consequences. Their love is fragile, and all it will take is a blow from the past to shatter it all.

Sweet and short

I love the concept of this story, beautiful flow with the narrators, and definitely a feel good kind of story. These 2 characters had great chemistry and love the banters. I truly dig Helena Hunting’s books so far.

Sparks and more Sparks

The story was great. Avery and Dec meet their first year in college, have missed opportunities to be a couple, forge a good foundation with friendship and realize a few years out of college, living as roommates, that they love each other.

Sparks fly when Dec is taking care of Avery after a personal tragedy. I absolutely love Helena Hunting and they do an amazing job with the issues of loss, trauma, trust, infidelity and friends turned lovers to partners.

Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom as narrators were the perfect choice for these characters. Jason's voice breaking at the end, with his love for Avery had me crying. Jason also does a terrific job with the female voice. The only other male narrator I can stand doing female voices is Teddy Hamilton. Stella delivers the emotions just right and also does the male voice really well. Pacing and timing was spot on. Thank you for another great story!

Great story and great narration

Having read the ebook I could not wait to listen to Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom's narration. It really brought the story to life for me. When Sparks Fly ticked all the boxes for me as Avery and Declan’s story unfolded. I love Ms. Hunting's style of writing, her stories are always entertaining and her characters engaging.

The writing was descriptive and I could easily imagine Colorado Springs. When Sparks Fly is a great friends to lovers story that ticked all the boxes for me. When Avery is injured in a car accident, Declan volunteers to be her and nurse her back to health. After nearly losing her he realizes just how much she means to him and feelings become complicated.

The chemistry between Avery and Declan was intense, almost electrifying. I fell hard and fast for Declan and I loved how sassy and feisty Avery was as she focused on her recovery. The relationship she has with her sisters was also heartwarming .

From start to finish Helena Hunting wove together a story that I could not put down. I was me totally engrossed from the first to the last chapter and for me these two were meant to be.

An interesting twist on friends to lovers.

I am a huge Helena Hunting fan. Every book of hers is an unique treat. When Sparks Fly is another great book.

Avery and Declan have been best friends since their freshman year of college, through his man whore ways and her heartbreak at the hands of his ex-best friend. They even bought a condo to live in as friends.

Then Declan lets Avery down and a horrible accident occurs.

From there we experience two people finally taking a chance on the person they really love while also learning to face their own fears.

This book truly had a heart wrenching break that leads to a true happy ending that makes you believe a forever is possible.

I loved Avery and Declan, and her sister Harley and London, and their friends Jerome and Mike. I can not wait to read more of this universe the amazing Ms. Hunting created.

Stella Bloom and Jason Clarke truly bring these amazing characters to life and I had a hard time not just sitting and enjoying the whole audiobook in one sitting.

best friends to true love

This story is written to show the life of Avery and Declan's years of friendship and underlined love. it was not easy, since Declan has trust & relationship issues due to his parents. It was a journey to find his way. The narrators were perfect. I love Jason Clarke

Great story but...

I love Helena Hunting books she always has amazing Narrators. However my only criticism is it can be somewhat predictable. Boy meets girl they start an amazing relationship then some stupid miscommunication happens and they break up 🙄 yes I love how they come back together I just wish I didn't always know going in that once the relationship started at some point they were going to break up over something stupid.

Love STARTS with "I love you." Then the hard part

I love that this story doesn't end when the characters admit their love. It continues through the challenges that follow and which couples have to work through to get to true "happiness ever after."
