About this listen
When you practice the short moments meditation, you are associating moment-by-moment and more and more with the vastness of your own open intelligence and love from which all power comes - the power to love, the power to be generous, everything. So, you choose short moments. Even in the face of a tsunami, you rest and choose short moments. Rather than being distracted by all these events that we are experiencing in the world now, root yourself in open intelligence. In doing so, you access your innate wisdom and discernment, as well as the inexhaustible skillful means to be of great benefit to all.
If the whole world falls apart, open intelligence is what will carry you through. Yes, indeed, when surfing the tsunami that is breaking upon the world these days, open intelligence is what will carry you through.

Reverse Meditation is for anyone who wants to bring the challenges of life onto the path of awakening. When things get hard, it’s time to turn your practice on its head—and throw out any assumption that meditation exists to insulate you from the confusion, difficulties, and uncertainty of life. “By putting your meditation into reverse,” Holecek teaches, “you’ll actually find yourself going forward. Step into your pain and you can step up your evolution.”

The Words of My Perfect Teacher is the classic commentary on the preliminary practices of the Longchen Nyingtig—one of the best-known cycles of teachings and a spiritual treasure of the Nyingmapa school—the oldest Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Patrul Rinpoche makes the technicalities of his subject accessible through a wealth of stories, quotations, and references to everyday life. His style of mixing broad colloquialisms, stringent irony, and poetry has all the life and atmosphere of an oral teaching.

Lama Yeshe tells us that mahamudra is “the universal reality of emptiness, of nonduality” and its unique characteristic is its emphasis on meditation: “With mahamudra meditation there is no doctrine, no theology, no philosophy, no God, no Buddha. Mahamudra is only experience.” As always, Lama Yeshe’s words are direct, funny, and incredibly encouraging. He gets us to go beyond ego’s addiction to a limited sense of self and to taste the lightness and expansiveness of our own true nature.
