About this listen
In June 2009, Caspar and Nichola created a plan to sail around the world with their young children. Most people thought they were crazy. But over the past seven years they've embraced every moment of this momentous chapter of their lives. Five years of planning - the vision, the values, the practicalities, the realities, the excitement, the highs, the lows and the seemingly adventure-stopping obstacles - led to two wonderful years of living their dream - the magical and the scary, enjoying life and learning as a family.
This is Caspar's story. It's a story of a fabulous sailing adventure but it's also so much more than that - it's an inspirational tale for all those wishing they could do the same; it's a practical guide to show you just how you can make it happen; it's a motivational story of leadership and teamwork within a family; and it's a funny, heartwarming tale of slightly unconventional family life. The fascinating narrative of Caspar's story is accompanied by useful text features such as tip boxes, sidebars and chapter summaries, so that the listener can easily extrapolate the necessary nuggets about how they can make the dream a reality.

Take a trip to old Japan with William Scott Wilson as he travels the ancient Kiso Road, a legendary route that remains much the same today as it was hundreds of years ago. The Kisoji, which runs through the Kiso Valley in the Japanese Alps, has been in use since at least 701 CE. In the 17th century, it was the route that the daimyo (warlords) used for their biennial trips - along with their samurai and porters - to the new capital of Edo (now Tokyo).

Story
We have a glut of text and trade books on American history. But what we don’t have is a compact, inexpensive, and authoritative book that will offer to American citizens a clear, informative, and inspiring narrative account of their own country. Such an account can shape and deepen their sense of the land they inhabit and, by making them understand that land’s roots, and share in its memories, equip them for the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship in American society.

Baffling and beloved, with the capacity to go from joy to frustration in seconds, young children are some of the most misunderstood people on the planet. Parents and caregivers struggle with these little ones, who are known for their extreme behaviour, from tantrums, resistance, and aggression to separation anxiety, bedtime protests, and not listening. The key to understanding youngsters lies in realizing that their challenging behaviour is not personal, nor is it a disorder or deficit.

Story
When you read about someone sailing around the world, it’s usually a dotcom millionaire or a professional adventurer. Brave or Stupid? tells a very different story. It’s an everyman tale about a middle-aged, seasick electrician with no money who suddenly and for no reason decides to sail around the world. It’s the story of Yanne Larsson, a man with a dream born not out of a passion for sailing or a search for identity or the need for a challenge. This is the story of a simple handshake. One of the old-fashioned, ironclad ones.

An amazing circumnavigation and transformation!
Incredible and compelling account of the Cravan family’s personal transformation on their circumnavigation of the world!
An inspirational story of one man leaping with his family toward their dreams - considering the upside and the taking the calculated risk toward achieving it - 5 years in the planning and 2 in the making and everything beyond.
It is also a great voyeuristic way to journey along with them without going through the tough and very real challenges and risks they face on the journey.
Inspirational!

Very inspiring! I loved the practical idea that if this family can weather tbe storms of the ocean with calm confidence and work as a team than your family can weather life's storms. I also loved the business information at the front.
