Sara Baron’s dream job as a professional symphony musician is threatened by a medical affliction. She returns to her hometown in Upstate New York to receive physical therapy and hopefully recover enough to resume her career. While playing duets for the opening of the town’s new community center, lights go out and a gunshot echoes through the reception area. The building contractor, a man with no shortage of enemies, is dead. Her duet partner and childhood friend begs her to help find the killer when her father, Sara’s old chemistry teacher, is at the top of the suspect list. With her keen sense of hearing and attention to detail, Sara has the ability and the time to play amateur sleuth, but is it worth the risk?
This isn’t the only choice Sara must make. Her family’s oboe-making business needs her, and she’s fallen in love with her physical therapist. If she’s able to return to her job at the end of her leave, one of her dreams will die no matter which road she chooses. The question is, which one?

We learn a lot about Jeremy and his business dealings.
Subplots include a prison escape, relationships, and health issues for her grandfather.
Also, job opportunities for a few of our characters are in the mix. What will happen, what will their choices be?
I enjoyed each twist and turn until the last word.
Looking forward to the next installment.
