About this listen

Something sinister wanders the halls of the asylum, and there's a method to its madness.

Plagued by visions, nightmares, and voices, Felix checks himself into a psychiatric institution, hoping to find a cure.

When fellow patients begin to disappear, Felix suspects the staff is up to something unsavory. Yet no one remembers the missing patients. Not the doctors and nurses, not their families, not even the other patients.

As Felix digs deeper, he discovers a terrifying link between his past and the asylum, one that will challenge everything he thinks he knows about his mentor and himself....

To have a chance of exposing an even greater evil, Felix must survive being trapped on a locked ward at the mercy of a murderous psychopath and hungry ghosts. If he fails, the truth will die with him and an even more powerful evil will be free to do as it pleases, one that will reshape the very future of humanity.

Copen's Best Work Yet

I've read and loved both the Lazarus Codex and the Hellbent Halo series. I was such a Lazarus fan that I couldn't listen to the Felix Cross audiobooks for several months, because I couldn't mentally separate Travis Baldree's voice from the character of Lazarus Carrigan.

But, OMFG! The FCC series is next level. It's so raw, personal, and intense. It's equal parts a hard boiled noir and a long lost love story wrapped tightly within a nail biting combo of trauma and horror.

If you like books by Jim Butcher, Kim Harrison, and Richard Kadrey; or shows like AHS, Ratched, and Lovecraft Country this series is definitely for you.

Thank You E.A.

amazing 👏

so far I really love these books. They are so moving and vivid. I tried the other two series the author has but nothing is like this one.

the narrator is flawless and I found myself crying, laughing, and clapping at some of the delivery of these lines. I have to get that next book soon.

A bit difficult to follow and trigger warnings

Love the idea of this man who is a bit Sandman Slim, a tad of Dresden, and whole lot of supernatural. However, there are graphic details of R-word and violations. If this triggers you, you may want to skip this one and continue on. It is definitely a book you need to pay attention; as it goes from now, to the past, and continues back and forth. I found myself rewinding to see what just happened. Overall, I love the narrator as he does many voices that aren't a stretch of what I imagined the characters (male and female) would sound like.
