Publisher's summary

Ian promised Kate that life with him would never be boring, but spending her days picking out paint colors and going to Pilates isn't going to cut it. Meanwhile, Ian discovers that building a white-hat security firm from the ground up seems harder the second time around, and he might have underestimated how much he'd miss the undercover work he walked away from. To make matters worse, the hacktivists are threatening national security, and the task force could really use Ian's help. Kate and Ian have always worried that their past would catch up to them, and when faced with the biggest showdown of their lives, they must capitalize on the one thing they excel at most: teamwork.

And everything is right in the world

I have been waiting to continue Kate and Ian's story on Audible since Heart Shaped Hack was released and I was not disappointed.

The first 2/3 of the story is Kate and Ian doing what they do best... being freaking adorable and funny. I listened with a smile on my face and a swoon in my heart.

The last 1/3 was exactly what I expect from a Tracey Garvis Graves book, intense, nail biting, stressful and edge of the seat exciting.

I love these 2 books so much and both are completely credit worthy.

Kristin Condon is fantastic in this book. It's written in 3rd person and I think Kristin is more of a story teller than a narrator. She doesn't really switch up voice or tone or dialect but I'm not complaining! In a 3rd person book, she is perfection. And her voice is so smooth and easy to listen to. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So So Good!

I am in love with these two characters! This book was my hands-down favorite of the series. And honestly, I want MORE. The entire story was addicting. I truly began jonesing to know more when I had to put the book down because life had to interrupt.

Kate and Ian are totally couple goals. The humor and wit, the ridiculously sweetness between the two. Full of steamy sensuality, this story worms its way under your skin, takes you for a ride, and won't let you go until the last page is read. I am totally super bummed now that it's over...

Love the series

The series were great and it left an opening for a third novel however the narrator didn’t have enough range to clearly identify the characters. That was the only issue I had.

Such a great sequel. I really love this story, author and narrator. I didn’t want it to end.

Great follow up to Heart Shaped Hack!

White-Hot Hack is book 2 in the Kate and Ian Series and I anxiously awaited the release- I'm not sure why I neglected to write a review until now. Ian and Kate are by far one of my favorite couples, and I have read their first novel, Heart-Shaped Hack, at least 5 time- it's just that good!

White-Hot Hack was just as good as I had hoped it would be! Picking up right where HSH left off, WHH was definitely different in tone, but still had that amazing banter and "Sweetness" I loved in the first book. I enjoyed reading about hacking in HSH, and the author gave us an even deeper dive on the hacking world in this book. It was more action-packed but I am glad to say I didn't shed any tears reading this one! Still suspenseful and fast-paced, this book was a satisfying ending to the story. And the epilogue was fabulous.... I do love a good epilogue!

Boring-had to run away

This was literally like listening to someone narrate every moment of their life. “She sat down and then sighed, he watched her. Sitting felt great. He went to work out. She started dinner. Blah blah blah. “ honestly. I tried.

Predictable

Pretty predictable for me. Not horrible, just okay. I could see everything coming at ten steps before it happened. Wasn't funny. I just kept thinking that if he was the best (as he said) why didn't he see what was happening, or talk himself out of so many, what he called, paranoid thoughts. They weren't being paranoid.

I kept thinking... Talk to Phillip or Charlie. Ugh!

Then she was so thoughtless in her actions all the time. She should never have been in what she was doing. And come on... everyone knows a smart car can be hacked. What was he thinking letting her drive that home. It just made no sense to me.

Although the narrator was fine, I prefer male voices when there is a male POV. The author wrote the story in such a way that there were times, especially with the narrator being female, I wasn't sure who was talking. Who's POV I was in as her change of voice was much too subtle.

Oh well... onward.

What happened to the romance? YAWN!

What would have made White-Hot Hack better?

It was all based on the spy/thriller vein of the story and lost the romance in the shuffle.

Nickname overload

I was super excited to listen to the next book in Kate and Ian's story but I could barely handle pushing through to the end. The term sweetness started to make me gag, you can only use it so many times before it's a nauseating term of endearment. I just couldn't get past that and all the sex to root of the story, which was minimal. I am not a prude in anyway but I really liked the story in the first book and wanted more meat to continue on in the the second book.
