About this listen

Every woman needs a safe shelter. The tables have turned, and Gabby's estranged husband - who threw her out when she didn't live up to his image of a "corporate wife" - needs her in a way neither ever expected. He's begging for reconciliation, but Gabby has moved on, finding purpose and a future in the House of Hope. Not only has she found shelter for herself and her sons there, but she's able to help provide shelter for homeless moms and their kids. And yet... there's a hole in her life.

Is God leading Gabby down a new path and giving her something - and someone - new? Or is He redeeming what she thought was gone forever?

Wonderful display of how God works.

A wonderful story of how God works in people's lives. The proud or the downtrodden, and example of how we should see the value of all people.

This is part of a series

Any additional comments?

The book was good. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a part of a series and I didn't know. I like reading things in order so I can understand them. There were several references to things that I felt like I was already supposed to know about. Otherwise, it was good! Looking forward to starting the series from the top.

So sad it's over

How can this be the end when so many stories are left hanging!! There has to be more!

Loved It!

Neta Jackson does it again! This is the last book in the House of Hope series. The ending however , leaves you wondering. What will happen to Lucy? The characters in this book and with others in the series are so believable and real. I'm formerly from Chicago and the description of the neighborhoods bring back memories .

Wonderful Series

I love Neta Jackson's books and have read or listened to the Yada Yada series and now the House of Hope series. The characters are quite loveable. The narrator changes after book two, once I got into the story, it was ok, though I loved the former narrator.

Very good book!

I enjoyed the series, however I didn’t like the narrator switch after book 2. The original narrator was quite original!

Excellent Story

Being that this is the last book (I was hooked from the second start), I enjoyed this story greatly. The way the characters were richly developed and portrayed was not only impressive but inspiring. This is what the Body of CHRIST should be like. I truly appreciated the very authentic portrayal of romance, temptation, and how the latter is overcome. Thank you, Neta Jackson, for an exceptional series. I appreciate the narrator as well.

Redemption

I know it's not possible usually but it would be nice if the same narrator could narrate the entire series.

fantastic

I loved it! I wish every book in the series would become an audio book. It's frustrating to have to resort to reading instead of listening!

Who? ??? Is My Shelter?

Would you consider the audio edition of Who Is My Shelter? to be better than the print version?

No.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the authentic portrayal of Lucy the bag lady. I have worked with the homeless and she is very believable. She is full of fear and still tramautize by her early life. She is not looking for a home. That dood has been closed. The" Baby Baxters" are a cute young couple ; their interaction is an excellent model of marital life. The character Josh is a man who lays his life down and serves his wife, family , church and the community. He and wife are committed to Christ and the weaves this theme into the fabric of theses characters.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene is in the church. When Gabby and Phillip sitting together listen to the marriage ceremony of an older couple; they decided to commit themselves to redo their marriage with help from a Christian counselor.

If you could rename Who Is My Shelter?, what would you call it?

I think I would not rename it because it became my theme as I walked along with Gabby and Lucy. I asked my self that question over and over. It is just the right title because if Neta want to impact the reader the most it helps to think about that question.

Any additional comments?

Read it and grow.
