Editorial reviews

In Who Killed My Daughter?, acclaimed young adult author Lois Duncan recounts the harrowing story of her own daughter’s tragically unsolved murder, and her personal quest to find and bring a killer to justice.

Teri Clark Linden performs this raw and affecting memoir, her calm, even voice bringing some balance to the emotional turmoil evident throughout this intense audiobook. Who Killed My Daughter? is a poignant and elegiac recollection of personal grief and grit in the face of immeasurable horror, and Duncan’s journey through shock to rage and eventually uneasy acceptance is gripping, and not to be missed.

Complex, very detailed

Throughout the book, I felt the narrator was a distraction, at times even an irritant.

heartbreaking

I feel horrible for this woman. Not the ending I was hoping for. I hope they found answers.

True Story

I enjoy reading nonfiction. However, this story (even though there is a sequel) suffers from the number one issue with true stories, it is unresolved. So it is fascinating to read about the family, the case, and all the possible solutions. But you have to be okay without those answers.

Mechanical voice for a great story

It was quite annoying that the voice sounded like a computer. It’s unfortunate as this is a great story

Sad, compelling story but needs to be updated

Uses culturally inappropriate words like "oriental" to describe Asian people. The narrator is terrible at accents, her Mexican, Norwegian, and Vietnamese accents all sound vaguely Asian.

Draws you in

Although there is not a definitive ending to this story (and no answer to the titular question), the author takes the listener on a journey both incredulous and everyday. The story told is a melding of true crime and memoir and reveals how "ordinary people" with "ordinary lives" are impacted by extra ordinary events.

Very interesting true story!

I struggled with the narrator in the beginning. Once I figured out if I sped her voice up it got much better. It's a shameless this crime is still has not been solved.
