About this listen

What tangled webs we weave . . .

He's everything I don't want. A playboy. A beast with a cunningly gorgeous smile. Faces like his only mean one thing. Somewhere underneath all of that handsomeness, there lies a monster.

And if anyone can sense a monster, it's me.

I understand cruelty. I've lived and breathed it my entire life. I existed on the "charity" of others until I realized that it wouldn't be enough. My demons would soon be set free. They were coming back for me and to be ready for them—to be ready for him—I needed to make myself invincible.

But it's not enough. If I'm going to survive, then I need to make an alliance with a monster of my own: Abel Frazier.

Contains mature themes.

Two Broken Souls

Abel & Rylie’s story moved at an even pace, no angst or cheating, and mild drama. MMC was rich, had daddy issues growing up, was forced to seduce women for his father and now a womanizer. He secretly wanted to have what he brother had. FMC grew up in foster care and was sexually abused at the age of six, then stalked by him. I’m glad their story was completed in one book with a HEA. There still is a mystery that is unsolved.

best one

My favorite one in the series. I love Dean but I hated Avalon. I love the Rylie and Able story! Super hot!

What a twist

Good story line, twist at the end! Definitely going right to the next book, can’t wait to see what is in store for Brax!

So sweet!!

Some of the angst that happens in this book is dark and detailed. I highly suggest skipping this one if your triggers are easily set off. BUT the love in this book is beautiful and I love that Abel gets the love he deserves and so much more. I kind of wish his story was longer because he’s my favorite character but it was good nonetheless.

FEMALE NARRATOR GROWLS TOO MUCH 👎👎👎

The female narrator, Elizabeth Russell, growls through the entire book when she reads Abel's part (The male character)!!! She mumbles & slurs her words reading other male parts of the book like the scene at the club when Rylie orders a drink... it was really bothering me, like why would you think any guy would sound like that as a male lead in a book! JF Harding as Abel when he read his part was on point! The story was amazing, JF Harding was amazing but Elizabeth Russell not at all.... kinda took me out the book when she would read but when JF would read I got lost in the book again....

Riley and Abel

I am still absolutely loving this series! Impressive work! It’s difficult to keep my interest after the first two books but this series is an exceptional work of dark art.

More on Abel and Rylie

I wish it were more than one book for Abel, but I can't wait for the next book

Not bad, but also not great~

Is this the best written book? No. But is it a decent enough story? Yes. I enjoyed listening to it. But it is lacking in details. The author definitely could have explained more and gone deeper. Like I felt like the climax with Daniel wasn’t much, she could have made it more. The same can be said with the previous book. They’re just missing that little extra something. I enjoyed this book more than the previous book. The only thing I found absolutely annoying was the repetition. The popping of the Ps, the use of the word spittle, there were a few other words too. Overall, I enjoyed this book. Though the Daniel dreams and flashbacks were seriously disturbing. At least it had a happy ending, though it was predictable, and the reason to go to Vegas was cheesy and seemed too fast for my liking.

resiliency to live

The series itself, rather intense, but this one, pointed out how regardless of society status, abuse is abuse. the resources are what can affect outcome.

only negative is the child mester, Daniel, his voice when talking throughout was way over top. he was a creepy enough character without the over done tone of voice.
