Publisher's summary

This enchanting companion to Robert Beatty's instant number-one New York Times best seller Willa of the Wood is perfect for any listener, young or old, who cares deeply about the natural world.

Willa and her clan are the last of the Faeran, an ancient race of forest people who have lived in the Great Smoky Mountains for as long as the trees have grown there. But as crews of newly arrived humans start cutting down great swaths of the forest she loves, Willa is helpless to stop them. How can she fight the destroyers of the forest and their powerful machines?

When Willa discovers a mysterious dark hollow filled with strange and beautiful creatures, she comes to realize that it contains a terrifying force that seems to be hunting humans. Is unleashing these dangerous spirits the key to stopping the loggers?

Willa must find a way to save the people and animals she loves and take a stand against an all-consuming darkness that threatens to destroy her world.

Filled with a compelling mixture of history, mystery, and magic, Robert Beatty's books are loved by listeners from eight to 108.

Beautiful story of our connection with the earth

Beatty’s enchanting stories of Willa (Willa of the Woods and Willa of dark Hollow) beautifully remind us of our connection to the earth and the need for us to protect it.

OMG!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!

I loved this book!! I hate spoilers so I wont spoil anything but everything about this book was amazing!! The storyline was amazing, the narrator was great, and the writing of this book was incredibly amazing throughout the whole book. If you are reading this book instead of the first one first, then I reccomend not. The author explains everything you need to know to understand this book in the first one. He dosnt go over it agian in this one, which I like because I know that stuff already. If you like this author and his style I would recommend another series by him. It is called Serafina. I'm pretty sure that is how you spell it. but if you think you have heard about it then maybe not. There is another book called that, it is not by the same author as this one and it is about dragons. The book I'm talking about is a girl. I wont get too far into it because I'm reviewing Willa of the Dark Hollow but it is a really good book in my opinion. Have a great day and I hope you enjoy Willa if you buy it!

Favorite Author

Another great story by my favorite author. I love the references to so many familiar areas in the Smokies, the fight to protect our forests and the strength of the young girls in the story. i was kind of disappointed at the ending although the thought of becoming one with the Earth is a wonderful thing.

Amazing choiceシ

I don't like this book..

I LOVE IT!

Though I am a 10 yr old٫ this book is amazing. I would advise this book to anyone and everyone. But first in order to understand what they're talking about٫ you 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 read 𝑾𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒐𝒅.

Robert Beatty was made to be an author and it shows. But enough with the book let's talk about the reader.

The reader is awesome. She reads fluently and her voice just makes you relaxed. I advise to read and/or listen to this book.

The only part I would change is the ending

I hate the last sentence, it’s just… so plain, why not say… “They gazed up at the Willa tree that had grown near the healing bear lake. The end.”

Depressing sad and tragic from the first lines

From the first chapter this book left me disgusted with all mankind, grieving for the long lost nature we can never replace, anxious with dread for all the horrible things the humans would do next, nauseous over the carnage, grieved for every living thing in the story, and guilty for all the wood and fur and meat in my home.

I enjoyed previous reads by this author, but I’m just not in a place to want to feel this bad every time I turn the book on.
