About this listen

William Tyndale lived a life of adventure and danger, dodging the king's men, fleeing from his enemies, and meeting with smugglers in the dead of night. What brought a well-educated young English man to such a state? Was he an outlaw? Was he a thief? No - he was a Bible smuggler and a brave one at that.

Tyndale wanted other English speakers to be able to read God's word in their own language, but there were many who tried to put a stop to that. However, Tyndale's work was God's work, and it would not be stopped - even after Tyndale's death. One day, there was a translation of the Bible in the English language, and it lit a fire in people's hearts that would not be put out.

Listen and learn about how God wants us to be brave and courageous and to stand up for the truth!

Thank God for raising up this devoted servant or we might still be stuck in spiritual darkness!

Written for older children, but I learned a lot about Tyndale and the Church as it was in the midst of Reformation. Got to know Henry VIII, Sir Thomas Moore, and Thomas Cromwell also.

So much of what we take for granted today came at the expense of peril, chains, and death of others. Indeed, like their LORD and MASTER, they willingly laid down their own lives that THE GOSPEL of CHRIST might go forward. We should know the Bible - and if we take it for granted, we MUST consider the cost at which we now have The WORD to read and know!!!! It cost most something - forfeiting earthly wealth, comfort, safety,, their homes, life with a family, chains, some prison, some the last great measure of their life. Yes and CHRIST HIMSELF laid down Title and Rights of GOD to become man, suffer the weight of our sins on HIS sinless body in sacrificing HIS life for our salvation.
So learn, stand fast, and never grow tired of the legacy of eternal love CHRIST and HIS servants bestow on us today... this freedom did not come at no cost for freedom is never free.

LEGACY of their Labor of love for The LORD JESUS long outlives their earthly lives

Loved the physical descriptions of the people in the book, and the narration. I Like the DL Moody and George Mueller stories only because they did not get murdered in the end. But this had the best writing and narration between the three.

Like a shorter Sherlock Holmes

William Tyndale was such a wonderful man of God, we can all be so thankful for his passion, even until death, to translate the Word of God into English. Good story is worth knowing! This was a great book to listen to, I enjoyed every minute! The reader was easy to listen to as well!

I had been looking into Gods word translated. This was one of the books that I’ve just finished. I’ve been working on being able to believe scripture. I felt very moved by William Tyndale. Although this is not an autobiography, there are books that are about him. Reading his zeal for the Bible, His need and love to share the truth to the common people, he was willing to keep his integrity to his death.
