About this listen

The long-awaited explosive climax to the first arc of the Number One New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive.

Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare-and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium's place has thrown everything into disarray.

Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide-Adolin in Azimir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah at Thaylen City. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade. He is accompanied by Kaladin, who faces a new battle helping Szeth fight his own demons . . . and who must do the same for the insane Herald of the Almighty, Ishar.

At the same time, Shallan, Renarin, and Rlain work to unravel the mystery behind the Unmade Ba-Ado-Mishram and her involvement in the enslavement of the singer race and in the ancient Knights Radiants killing their spren. And Dalinar and Navani seek an edge against Odium's champion that can be found only in the Spiritual Realm, where memory and possibility combine in chaos. The fate of the entire Cosmere hangs in the balance.

The destination has not undermined the journey

This is an excellent book, bringing to a close half of one of Brandon's best and longest series yet. The aspect of gay and non-binary characters wasn't really nessasary, but shouldn't decrease your enjoyment of the book. This was an amazing read, and the Stormlight Archive is better because of it.

A journey as always

Of all the planets in the Cosmere, I love Roshar the most. And after this one, it just got even more interesting. Not going to put any spoilers here, but this was a trip! 10 days of absolute awesomeness as Lift would say.

A masterful series that stuck the landing

I have enjoyed every step of this Journey Mr. Sanderson, but boy the destination was marvelous as well.
If you, potential reader, want to feel immersed in a strange but relatable fantasy world this is the series most deserving of your precious time and attention. You will meet characters whoms triumphs will fill you with joy, and their despair make you wish you could stretch out and lend a hug through the page.
I simply cannot recommend this enough.
Mr. Sanderson tactfully deals with themes like personality disorder and mental illness in a way that adds so much to this series, without feeling like it is just shoehorned in to appease some focus group, but instead wanting to understand and maybe even in the slightest but most important way, offer help though said understanding.
The series is long, but you will not regret the read, of that I am certain.

Last a big thanks to the lovely narrator team! You bring this world to life and bring me calm when my mind rages like a highstorm. I truly mean it when I say, no one does it better than you. Thank you.

Life before death, Journey before destination.

God damn what an epic

Apart from the voice actor which would have served better by having more people voice actor, because it is definitely deserving of an epic cast to match the characters. As for the story and plot , honestly I did not expect the 5th book to surpass the previous one but hot damn did Brandon Sanderson deliver , no spoilers but readers/listeners are in for an epic story with many many twists and turns

Breathtaking

A fitting end to Brandon’s most epic fantasy.

Blown away by the sheer ambition and scope of this first arc of Stormlight Archive. It is master craftmanship.

Worst part is the wait for the next one

Loved it, I understand more but the intrigue still continues, as the best book a person could read, is the next.

Disappointed, Sanderson has gone woke.

The story could have been good, it needed more editing and less agenda. If future books follow this path, it might be my last Sanderson book.

Mediocre to low writing and not a good performance

it's an okay book to read just for the sake of completion, but it has very little to offer to the reader in terms of emotional attachment to the characters or a surprising plot development. the reading by the female narrator are unbearable like in the previous books in that series.
it's been less than a day after I finished the book, and I already stopped thinking about it.
