About this listen

The long-awaited explosive climax to the first arc of the Number One New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive.

Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare-and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium's place has thrown everything into disarray.

Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide-Adolin in Azimir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah at Thaylen City. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade. He is accompanied by Kaladin, who faces a new battle helping Szeth fight his own demons . . . and who must do the same for the insane Herald of the Almighty, Ishar.

At the same time, Shallan, Renarin, and Rlain work to unravel the mystery behind the Unmade Ba-Ado-Mishram and her involvement in the enslavement of the singer race and in the ancient Knights Radiants killing their spren. And Dalinar and Navani seek an edge against Odium's champion that can be found only in the Spiritual Realm, where memory and possibility combine in chaos. The fate of the entire Cosmere hangs in the balance.

The destination has not undermined the journey

This is an excellent book, bringing to a close half of one of Brandon's best and longest series yet. The aspect of gay and non-binary characters wasn't really nessasary, but shouldn't decrease your enjoyment of the book. This was an amazing read, and the Stormlight Archive is better because of it.

The plot and emotions

The plot is still remarkable as ever, but seemed to me less emotional than it has been in previous books. It could be because of the pause between me listening the 4th book and this one, so I probably blame more myself for not restarting from the beginning making emotional ties thicker while plunging into the full story again.
Nevertheless It’s still the best epic I ever read (listen) after WoT. Thank you for giving me so many thoughts about person growth.

A journey as always

Of all the planets in the Cosmere, I love Roshar the most. And after this one, it just got even more interesting. Not going to put any spoilers here, but this was a trip! 10 days of absolute awesomeness as Lift would say.

It’s not over yet and I can’t wait.

I can’t say much without spoiling it and spiraling but I do wonder where Rock went.

God damn what an epic

Apart from the voice actor which would have served better by having more people voice actor, because it is definitely deserving of an epic cast to match the characters. As for the story and plot , honestly I did not expect the 5th book to surpass the previous one but hot damn did Brandon Sanderson deliver , no spoilers but readers/listeners are in for an epic story with many many twists and turns

Breathtaking

A fitting end to Brandon’s most epic fantasy.

Blown away by the sheer ambition and scope of this first arc of Stormlight Archive. It is master craftmanship.

Worst part is the wait for the next one

Loved it, I understand more but the intrigue still continues, as the best book a person could read, is the next.
