About this listen

When a lonely divorcee chooses to become an email order bride, she has to learn about the importance of decisions and family or lose her shot at love.

Rachel needs to get out of the rut she’s in and away from the wake of destruction her divorce left behind her.

Stuck in a town where everyone knows her and her ex-husband, Rachel is distinctly aware of who chose his side - everyone - and who chose her side – no one. Even her hairstylist won’t schedule her.

But when she finds herself alone with a bottle of Chianti and the Internet, Rachel stumbles upon Clickandwed.com. The survey is easy and clicking “I Do” seems to be the magic button she’d been searching for.

Before she could snap out of her decision, she finds herself packed and flying across the country to meet her new husband.

Will her new life be better or worse than the hell she left behind?

I liked it.

I listened to the audio version of this book. I give it 3 1/2 stars. First of all, I feel like the cover was misleading. I expected something light and funny. The only thing that fit that was the very beginning when the heroine woke up from a night of drinking and discovered she somehow managed to marry a guy in another state by proxy and the 0h, ____ moments that accompanied that moment of remembering.
Other than that, most of the book was much darker than I anticipated.
I did still enjoy the book. The plot was original. There wasn't much romantic buildup, but you could tell that the couple did care about each other (if only they would tell each other!) My real problem with the audio version was Nicole Marie Blessing's voice for the male. The female voice was very good, even delightful at times. However, the male voice was rather monotone...even when he was making a joke. I don't know if I would have felt different about the book if I'd read it. Who knows?

Adorable love story with a splash of family drama!

I really had fun reading and listening to this short story and I will definitely be reading the next in the series and I appreciate the author including a satisfying epilogue. Five excellent stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Neat twist on "mailorder bride" for the 21st cen.

Rachel is living in the Ohio small town she grew up in, divorced from rising politician Derek, and living with her parents, who at best regard her as then unwanted, unexpected third child they never intended to have. Because Derek is making this a choice between him and her, for everyone, everyone is dropping her, including her hairdresser.

But lonely and drinking on New Year's Eve, she sees an ad for a website, "ClickandWed.com," and decides to give it a try. The survey is easy and fun, and she is offered two possible matches, and chooses one... Before she realizes it, she's committed herself, clicked "I do," and spent a couple thousand dollars she doesn't really have. And the only way to get that money back is to head off to Idaho, stick it out six months, and complete the tasks assigned by the website.

Logan is a rancher, or rather, he has inherited his parents' ranch, and decided he's going to make it work and become a paying operation. He's lonely too, and he also finds the website and succumbs to its fun initial approach, and finds himself accepting Rachel when she picks him from the two matches she's offered.

But neither of them really made a sober, well-thought-out decision to do this, and they're both confused and flailing a bit. They both have debts they have to pay off or lose everything. They're both afraid of getting attached and then getting hurt if the other one isn't equally attached.

Rachel is a professional organizer, who is able to do a lot of her work remotely. Because we meet her on New Year's Eve, we don't see her at work until she's in Idaho, on Logan's ranch, and in his house filled with the antiques and collectibles his hoarder-inclined parents left behind when they died in a car crash.

Because they're both so cautious, having been burned in the past, Rachel and Logan don't start to really get to know each other until they start doing the tasks the ClickandWed service sets for them.

This is light, and fun, and I enjoyed it.

Love and marriage via a button

I have found a new favorite author! Ms. Paulson writes with such feeling that it literally oozes from her books and Ms. Blessings narration adds the perfect touch to her characters!! Not to be missed!!

Is the narrator a computer?

It sounds like this book is being read by a terrible computer voice the whole time. The story is really uninteresting and bland. There are so many red flags throughout it. DNF
