About this listen

"I’m doing just fine on my own. Love is for the weak."

When Grayson Barker lost his leg during his last deployment with the Marines, he might as well have lost his life. He’s gone aimless and bitter, and even though he knows his friends and family are just trying to help, he’d much prefer it if everyone just left him alone to rot. Having PT isn’t going to help him get his life back - even if his therapist does funny things to his libido.

"I keep it casual. Not because I don’t love anyone, but because I do. And those you love always hurt you the most."

Dylan Wexler doesn’t work with vets. He’d spent too long as a child dealing with his father’s PTSD that spiraled into abuse, and while he might be mended physically, the scars his father left behind still cut deeply every day. But having friends means making sacrifices, and when he’s talked into helping Grayson learn to walk with his prosthetic leg, he’s determined to his best work. Even if the man drives him to distraction.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. Every audiobook in the Worth It series can be listened to on its own, but with so many familiar characters to love, why stop with just one? This audiobook features a heart of stone, the patience that heals it, and a sensual threat to so many professional ethics.

Love Worth Never Letting Go

Once I started this story I couldn't stop listening to it. Greyson, a Marine needs to learn how to use his prosthetic leg. Dylan, a physical therapist came to help him.

The ride was rocky with Grayson needing mental therapy and Dylan trying to remain professional even though his feelings keep growing.

This is an emotionally rich story with strong characters and an uplifting ending . . .actually a beginning.

Sensitive, realistic depiction of war after-effect

This is wonderful, sweet love story that includes the after-effects of military service and injury, the conflict of a therapist getting a little too involved with his client's care, and the concern and care of family and friends. The depiction of Grayson's actions and resistance post-injury felt realistic and genuine. Having family members who served in the Gulf Wars, I have experienced the stubborn resistance to seeking help and the reticence to talk or share one's feelings about that time. I liked that Dillon was strong enough to do what was best for Grayson once he realized he was doing as much harm as good, and I loved the way Grayson was spurred to do something to retain the man he loved. Beautiful all around.

The narration was good. I have to be honest that I missed the narrator from the first book in the series just because I liked his voice and the accents he gave some characters. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Mr. Muckajev's narration. His voice was clear and strong, and his pace and delivery were just right for me.

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request. This is my honest, voluntary review.

YOU CAN ONLY HEAL IF YOU ASPIRE FOR IT

Another riveting tale of psychological stress and denial. Grayson, a war vet amputee, has to learn to live with his disability and a leg that aches whenever he tries to wear his prosthesis. Enter Dylan, a physical therapist, who falls for Grayson, but has his own baggage to carry. They both find a way to heal and be together for an HEA.

A story of great understanding

Peter has written another great story. Grayson and Dylan represent two sides of a very difficult problem. The sufferers of ptsd and those who suffer the collateral damage. Grayson lost a leg in combat and needs help. He is reluctant to accept it. His family steps in to help him.hiring Dylan to be his physical therapist.Grayson gradually accepts Dylan and comes to care for him. Dylan ‘s father suffered from ptsd, he was very abusive. This makes Dylan reluctant to treat Grayson. He doesn’t want to cross professional or personal boundaries.Grayson makes progress with his therapy and also learns to care for Dylan. The conflict progresses as both men deal with past and current problems. Can these men solve their problems? Visit Worthington and see. There are several recurring characters who enhance the stories in this series. Take some time to get to know them all. Loved the narrator. Looking forward to the next in the series.,

A great addition to the series

Another great book gets added to this series!

Grayson has lost his leg and has turned down PT. When his family gets together and forces the issue, he meets Dylan and together they turn his world upside down.

Such a sweet premise and follow through. I've really enjoyed this series and I think Nikola Muckajev is an awesome narrator!

Emotional story

This was an emotional and heartwarming story. Grayson and Dylan both had baggage to deal with before they could really be together. After a rough start, things are good for a time until baggage rears up and needs handled. I was sad they couldn't work on it together, but happy for the way things ended. A beautiful story. bThe narrator's voice and expressions added to my enjoyment of this story.

Great Series

While this was not my favorite book in this series, it is still a good one. I don't think the characters were as well developed as in some of Styles' other books. It seemed a bit rushed, or maybe over before it was really started. But the storyline was and ideas were really good.
