Brit Barron grew up in an Evangelical megachurch in the 90s, trying to fit neatly inside the boundaries her church and its narrow view of God had placed around her. She was boxed in by her fears, unable to realize her full potential. All that changed when she met a girl named Sami, fell in love, and chose to leave behind those narrow boundaries in favor of a fuller and more vibrant life.

I was looking for a book to listen to while I finished my household chores. The next thing I knew I was laughing at the stories and at the same time celebrating “Beans” for her bravery. It is an act of rebellion to fully show up for yourself when the world around you is begging you to be someone else. Beans act of rebellion is beautiful. Powerful. Liberating. Perfect. Keep rebellion sis, it looks good on you.

This was TOTALLY worth it...(pun intended)

Brit's book is relatable and honest and definitely will be one that I read again. She is inspires others with her vulnerability and reminds us of why we are in this in the first place. I was waiting eagerly for this to come out on audiobook and it did not disappoint. Thanks, Beans! Since I first heard you and Sami share your story together on Rachel's podcast, I have loved getting to follow along with your story. Thank you for being an example of a real person in a real, relatable situation that reminds us all that freedom, love and truth is so worth it.

This book is INCREDIBLE!!! It was so uplifting especially during the times of 2020.
