About this listen
Garrett was an ordinary New Yorker, appeasing annoying neighbors and paying over-inflated rent for a dumpy apartment in Hell's Kitchen. That is... until the larvae hatched.
With a brain squirming with voracious worms, Garrett's humanity dissipates and rage takes its place. As the end of the year draws near, his violent wrath is unleashed in a torrent of bloodshed and carnage. NYPD officers Luca Han and Mel Tredo are on a mission to find the depraved lunatic in before he can continue his Manhattan massacre. Can they capture the homicidal madman in the surging sea of potential victims before he slaughters again?
This gory tale of extreme horror is brought to you by the twisted real-life sisters behind Vanity Kills, Bad God's Tower, and The Illuminator Saga.

Story
Noah Fairchild has been losing his formerly polite Southern parents to far-right cable news for years, so when his mother leaves him a voicemail warning him that the “Great Reckoning” is here, he assumes it’s related to one of the many conspiracy theories she believes in. But when his own phone calls go unanswered, Noah makes the long drive from Brooklyn to Richmond, Virginia. There, he discovers his childhood home in shambles, a fridge full of spoiled food, and his parents locked in a terrifying trance-like state in front of the TV.

pretty horrifying!
good story, well written and well performed. not beyond the scope of possibility, which heads to the frightening drama. listen to the opening statement about this story being rather gory, they aren't kidding. I am typically not a fan of gore, but this story was really well done.

Multi perspective horror story
Writhe is a great "casual" step into the horror genre. I enjoyed hearing the perspective of multiple characters, and it kept moving forward with the storytelling. The writers didn't linger on any one event too long, and I feel it is adult horror but not XXX level horror. Without giving away too much I'd say it's like a snippet of adult maturation of the old Animorphs series. Awesome narration by George Brandenburg, he painted the pictures and sounds of what was happening in a clear and intriguing way without taking away from the author's writing style. He made it easy to follow exactly what was happening with multiple characters interacting, I did not have to backtrack/rewind to understand what is going on. Overall I enjoyed it and want to know more! I feel this could be expanded to a series, but I appreciate and enjoyed this short story!

Invasive Rage Worms
I used to feel bad about fishing with worms but after this book I will never look at worms the same way again. Wow! The storyline was fresh or should I say gory and unique. I absolutely loved this book it was well written and did fair warn you before about trigger warnings in advance. What can you say worms that invade the human body that bring on rage and insanity but is still so much fun to listen to. Horror story at its finest it starts off a little slow but that doesn't last long because when it picks up the body count rises. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves horror and gore that is at leastc18 years of age. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here of my own volition.

Fairly short but great scary story
This was much shorter than I expected (a bit over 4 hours I believe) but was very well written. This author is definitely one I enjoy and writes very good scary stories! I’ve also listened to Rictus Grin and thoroughly enjoyed it. This one is about a terrifying parasitic incident (talk about tapping into some of my fears!) and the ensuing chaos. Definitely worth the listen and very nicely performed.

Absolutely Disgusting..............
In all the best ways! The story is solid, the characters believable and sympathetic. Garrett just wants some quiet in his head and will stop at nothing to get it. The worms in his body drive him to extreme acts of violence and depravity. This book never flinched.
