About this listen

A HOUSE DIVIDED CANNOT STAND

Vinny Fowler is on the verge of having the life he’s always wanted. After fighting tooth and nail, he’s found love, formed a family, and carved out a lucrative career in construction. But while the future looks promising, the darkness from his past still haunts him.

When Vinny is assigned to help remodel the home of an elderly brother and sister, it seems like just another project. But he soon notices that the siblings have more interest in him than the task at hand. Little does he know that the job he thought was finished is just beginning, and what it entails will transcend the horrors of his upbringing.

Will the evil he must face swallow him up, or could the darkness in his past be the key to his survival?

Had my doubts initially, the magic felt outside Beauregard’s repertoire. But then all the pieces came together and WOW!! Just wow! A disturbing tale of human depravity and humanity’s affinity to hope all in one.
Amazing.

An immediate splatterpunk classic

I don’t usually write reviews, but screw it—this one deserves it. I’ll try to keep it short.

First off, Chuck absolutely nailed the narration. You can tell he had a blast bringing all the wild, twisted characters to life. Each one felt vivid, unique, and unforgettable. His energy made the whole thing even more immersive.

The father-son relationship between Vinny and Dennis really hit home for me. It reminded me of going to work and coming home with my dad back in the day—something deeply relatable that added heart to all the madness.

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if you mixed Bob the Builder, Ed Gein, and Mad Max, you’d get HANDYMAN. Certified hood classic. I could totally see Demonic Vinny as a Mortal Kombat character—ripping through enemies with his trusty golden hammer. Brutal, hilarious, unforgettable.

Bottom line: I had a blast listening to this. Highly recommended.

Favorite book for 2025. Hands down.

GORY DISTURBING FUN!!!

Went from buying every AB book to becoming extraordinarily wary lately. It feels like he’s just shitting out novels these days. Quality over quantity. The narrator did a decent job, but the story feels so over the top and forced and is littered with super corny dialogue. Feels like he just published his first draft of what could’ve been a decent story.

Lame Flimsy Story
